Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
H-1B eligibility for Operations roles hinges on the position requiring at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field. Review the job description carefully and document how your engineering or technical degree maps directly to the listed duties, not just the industry.
Target plant-level Operations openings specifically
Graham Packaging operates manufacturing facilities across the U.S., and plant-based Operations roles, such as process engineer or production manager, tend to drive sponsored hiring. Searching by facility location rather than only corporate postings surfaces more relevant openings.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Graham Packaging Operations jobs
Search Graham Packaging's Operations listings on Migrate Mate to filter specifically for visa-sponsoring roles. This saves time you'd otherwise spend screening postings that don't support work authorization from the start.
Understand TN eligibility before your offer stage
If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, TN status is a faster path than H-1B for qualifying Operations roles like engineer or scientist. Confirm your job title maps to a USMCA-listed occupation before negotiating your offer, since the title on your offer letter matters to a border officer.
Prepare for PERM timelines in permanent residency conversations
Graham Packaging has sponsored EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for Operations staff. DOL's PERM process can take well over a year before an I-140 petition is even filed, so raise permanent residency intentions early in offer negotiations rather than after you've started.
Confirm LCA wage compliance for your work location
For H-1B roles, your employer files a Labor Condition Application with DOL certifying the offered wage meets the prevailing wage for that specific metropolitan area. Operations salaries vary significantly between rural packaging plants and urban facilities, so verify the LCA reflects your actual work site.

Does Graham Packaging Company sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Graham Packaging Company has sponsored H-1B visas for Operations positions. Sponsorship is most common for roles with a clear degree requirement in a technical field, such as process engineering or manufacturing engineering. If you're in the H-1B lottery process, confirm with the hiring team early that the specific role qualifies as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Graham Packaging Company?
You can browse current Operations openings at Graham Packaging Company on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is available. Apply directly through the company's careers portal and note your work authorization needs in your application. Following up with the recruiting team to confirm sponsorship availability before a phone screen saves time for both sides.
Which visa types does Graham Packaging Company use for Operations roles?
Graham Packaging has used H-1B, TN, EB-2, and EB-3 pathways for Operations hires. H-1B is the most common nonimmigrant route for degree-holding engineers and technical staff. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship applies for longer-tenured Operations employees moving toward permanent residence.
What qualifications does Graham Packaging look for in Operations candidates?
Most sponsored Operations roles at Graham Packaging require a bachelor's degree in mechanical, chemical, industrial, or manufacturing engineering. Hands-on experience in a high-volume manufacturing or packaging environment is commonly expected. Familiarity with lean manufacturing, continuous improvement methodologies, and plant safety compliance strengthens your application for both the role and visa eligibility.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Graham Packaging Operations hires?
For H-1B, USCIS standard processing runs several months after the October 1 fiscal year start date, though premium processing can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days. TN approval at the border or port of entry is often same-day for Canadian citizens. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship involves DOL and USCIS steps that collectively take two or more years.
