Clarify your pathway before applying
ATI typically sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 rather than EB-1 for clinical roles. EB-3 covers most staff-level physical therapists and occupational therapists, while EB-2 applies if your role requires an advanced degree. Confirm which category ATI's HR team files before accepting an offer.
Verify your clinical license covers ATI states
PERM requires that your credentials meet the job requirements on the date of filing, not hire. If your physical therapy or occupational therapy license is only valid in one state, resolve reciprocity before ATI initiates labor certification to avoid a refusal on qualification grounds.
Request ATI's standard PERM job description early
ATI files PERM with DOL-defined minimum requirements tied to each role's Standard Occupational Classification code. Ask HR for the exact job description used in the filing. Discrepancies between your duties and the certified description can create complications at the I-140 stage.
Check the prevailing wage for your location and role
PERM certification requires ATI to pay at least the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and work location. Before negotiating salary, run your job title and zip code through the OFLC Wage Search to understand the wage level ATI must meet for your specific clinic site.
Use Migrate Mate to find ATI Green Card filing history
Search ATI's PERM and I-140 filing history on Migrate Mate by location and job title. This shows which roles and clinic regions have active Green Card sponsorship patterns, so you can target your application toward teams where the process is already established.
Understand ATI's location-dependent sponsorship timeline
Green Card timelines at ATI depend heavily on your birth country and priority date under EB-2 or EB-3. USCIS processing for I-140 approval can take several months, and nationals from high-demand countries face additional backlog. Confirm your estimated wait before committing to a multi-year role.
ATI Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ATI sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, ATI sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying healthcare professionals, primarily physical therapists and occupational therapists in clinical roles. Sponsorship typically follows the EB-2 or EB-3 immigrant visa pathway and is initiated after a period of employment. Sponsorship availability can vary by clinic location and staffing needs, so confirm with the recruiting team during the offer stage.
Which roles at ATI are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Licensed physical therapists and occupational therapists in direct patient care roles are the most common recipients of Green Card sponsorship at ATI. Clinical specialists and senior therapists with advanced credentials may qualify under EB-2, while most staff-level therapists are sponsored under EB-3. Administrative and non-clinical roles are rarely included in ATI's sponsorship program.
How do I start the Green Card process at ATI?
The process begins with PERM labor certification filed by ATI with DOL, which verifies no qualified U.S. worker is available for the role. After PERM certification, ATI files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS on your behalf. You can use Migrate Mate to review ATI's filing history by location and role before you apply, helping you target positions with an established sponsorship track record.
How long does the Green Card process take at ATI?
The timeline depends on your birth country, visa category, and USCIS processing speeds. PERM labor certification alone can take several months, followed by I-140 adjudication. Nationals from countries with high EB-2 and EB-3 demand face additional wait times due to visa backlogs. Confirm your priority date estimate with ATI's HR or immigration counsel before accepting an offer.
How do I negotiate Green Card sponsorship into my ATI offer?
Raise Green Card sponsorship explicitly during the offer stage rather than after onboarding. Ask HR whether your specific role and location are covered under ATI's sponsorship program, which PERM wage level applies, and what the expected timeline looks like from hire to I-140 filing. Getting these details in writing before you sign reduces uncertainty once the process begins.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at ATI?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
