Job Roles at Cisco Systems
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Cisco Systems Green Card Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target roles in Cisco's core engineering divisions
Cisco's strongest Green Card sponsorship activity sits in software engineering, network infrastructure, and hardware development. Applying to roles within these technical disciplines gives you the best chance of landing a position where Green Card sponsorship is a standard part of the offer.
Raise Green Card intent early in the recruiter conversation
Cisco's talent acquisition teams are experienced with sponsorship requests. Mentioning Green Card need early, rather than after an offer, filters in the right hiring managers and avoids wasted time with teams that aren't set up to sponsor.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified Cisco openings with sponsorship history
Not every Cisco job posting specifies visa support. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your applications on Cisco roles where Green Card sponsorship has actually been provided before.
Prioritize full-time roles over contract positions
Cisco sponsors Green Cards for direct employees, not contractors. If a Cisco role is through a staffing agency or listed as a contract position, Green Card sponsorship is unlikely. Focus exclusively on permanent, full-time openings posted directly by Cisco.
Prepare for a multi-year process and plan your status accordingly
Green Card processing at large Electronics & Hardware employers like Cisco can take several years depending on your country of birth. Make sure your current nonimmigrant status, whether H-1B or E-3, can be extended to bridge the full sponsorship timeline.

Does Cisco Systems sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Cisco Systems sponsors Green Card visas and is considered one of the more active sponsors in the Electronics & Hardware industry. The company primarily files under the EB-2 and EB-3 employment-based categories for technical and engineering roles. Sponsorship is typically offered to full-time employees, not contractors or temporary staff.
Which roles and departments at Cisco Systems typically receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Cisco concentrates heavily in software engineering, network engineering, hardware development, and systems architecture. Research and advanced technology teams also see consistent sponsorship activity. Business, sales, and non-technical roles are sponsored less frequently, so candidates in technical disciplines have a clear structural advantage when seeking permanent residency support.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Cisco Systems?
Cisco's immigration team manages Green Card filings through outside counsel once you're an established employee. The process typically starts with PERM labor certification, followed by an I-140 immigrant petition, and then adjustment of status or consular processing. Your role is to respond promptly to document requests and keep your employer informed of any status changes during the process.
How long does the Green Card process take at Cisco Systems?
Timeline depends primarily on your country of birth, not on Cisco itself. Applicants born in countries without significant backlogs can complete the process in two to four years. Applicants born in India or China face substantially longer waits due to per-country limits on immigrant visa numbers. Starting the process as early as possible in your employment at Cisco is the most important thing you can do.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Cisco Systems that are open to sponsorship?
Cisco posts roles on its careers site, but sponsorship availability isn't always clearly stated. Migrate Mate filters job listings by verified sponsorship history, making it easier to identify Cisco openings where Green Card support has been provided to previous hires. Combining that with a direct conversation with the recruiter about sponsorship intent early in the process gives you the clearest picture of what's available.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Cisco Systems?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
