Target clinical roles with chronic shortages
McLaren's hospitals consistently recruit for registered nurses, surgical technologists, and imaging specialists in markets where U.S. workers are scarce. Roles with documented shortages move through PERM labor certification faster because DOL audits are less likely when recruitment evidence is strong.
Understand which EB pathway fits your credentials
EB-3 is the standard route for most clinical staff and requires PERM. EB-2 applies if your role demands an advanced degree or you qualify for a National Interest Waiver. EB-1 skips PERM entirely but requires extraordinary ability evidence most bedside clinicians won't have.
Align your salary expectations with prevailing wage data
PERM requires McLaren to pay the DOL prevailing wage for your exact role, location, and experience level. Run your job title and Michigan county through OFLC Wage Search before negotiating an offer so your expected salary doesn't disqualify the petition at filing.
Use Migrate Mate to identify McLaren's filing history
Before applying, pull McLaren's PERM and LCA filing records on Migrate Mate to see which job titles and facilities have active sponsorship patterns. That data shows you where sponsorship is operationally routine versus where it's an exception requiring HR negotiation.
Request a sponsorship commitment before accepting an offer
McLaren's HR teams at individual facilities control sponsorship decisions, not a central immigration department. Ask explicitly during the offer stage whether the role is pre-approved for Green Card sponsorship and confirm whether the facility uses outside immigration counsel to file PERM.
Prepare your credential documentation early for healthcare roles
Foreign-trained nurses and allied health professionals must clear CGFNS certification, state licensure, and USCIS credential evaluations before a Green Card petition can proceed. Starting this process before your job search saves months of delay once McLaren extends a conditional offer.
McLaren Health Care Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does McLaren Health Care sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, McLaren Health Care sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying clinical and technical employees. Sponsorship is most common for roles in nursing, imaging, laboratory sciences, and allied health where persistent staffing shortages make PERM labor certification viable. Sponsorship decisions are made at the facility level, so confirm availability with the specific hospital or clinic where you're applying.
Which roles at McLaren Health Care are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Registered nurses, radiology technologists, surgical technologists, medical laboratory scientists, and physical therapists are among the roles McLaren most commonly sponsors. These positions consistently meet DOL's labor market test requirements under PERM because qualified U.S. workers are in short supply in many Michigan markets where McLaren operates.
How do I start the Green Card process at McLaren Health Care?
The process typically begins after you've accepted a job offer and completed any required credential evaluations. McLaren's HR or its immigration counsel initiates PERM labor certification with DOL, which can take a year or more before USCIS receives the I-140 petition. Foreign-trained clinical staff should complete licensure and credential evaluations before the offer stage to avoid delays.
How long does the Green Card process take when sponsored by McLaren Health Care?
The full timeline depends on your EB category and country of birth. EB-3 applicants born in high-demand countries like India or China face significant priority date backlogs that can extend the process by years beyond the initial PERM and I-140 filing. Most other nationalities can complete the process in two to four years under current USCIS processing conditions.
How do I find open Green Card sponsorship jobs at McLaren Health Care?
Migrate Mate lists McLaren Health Care roles filtered by sponsorship history, so you can identify which positions and facilities have active filing records. Cross-reference open postings with McLaren's own careers page and filter for clinical roles in shortage occupations. Applying directly through McLaren's system and flagging your sponsorship need in the application improves routing to HR contacts who manage immigration cases.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at McLaren Health Care?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
