Align your role to EB-2 or EB-3 early
Photon files both EB-2 and EB-3 petitions depending on the role's degree requirements. Software engineers with a directly related bachelor's degree typically qualify for EB-3, while senior architects or specialists with advanced degrees may be routed through EB-2. Clarify this before your offer is finalized.
Document your specialty occupation credentials thoroughly
PERM labor certification requires your employer to confirm your role can't be filled by a qualified U.S. worker. Gather degree transcripts, official translations if applicable, and any credential evaluations early. Australian three-year degrees often need a U.S. equivalency assessment before USCIS will accept them.
Ask Photon directly about its sponsored-role pipeline
Not every open role at Photon is automatically Green Card-eligible from day one. Some teams sponsor after a probationary period, others require internal approval. During interviews, ask specifically which business units have active sponsorship pipelines and whether your target role has existing PERM precedent.
Search Photon's DOL filing history on Migrate Mate
Before applying, use Migrate Mate to review Photon's verified Labor Condition Application filing history by job title and location. This tells you which roles Photon has sponsored before, what prevailing wage levels it has committed to, and which offices have the highest sponsorship activity.
Understand the PERM prevailing wage before negotiating
PERM requires Photon to pay you at least the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your role before salary discussions. Accepting below prevailing wage can delay or invalidate your PERM filing entirely.
Factor priority dates into your career timeline
If you're from a country with an oversubscribed EB-2 or EB-3 backlog, your Green Card wait after PERM approval could extend years. Confirm your country's current priority date with USCIS before committing to a sponsorship path that may not result in permanent residence on your preferred timeline.
Photon Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Photon sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Photon sponsors Green Card visas for eligible employees in its Technology & Software operations. Sponsorship is primarily concentrated in software engineering, digital consulting, and IT services roles. Green Card sponsorship is typically offered to employees who have demonstrated performance in their role, and it's initiated at the employer's discretion rather than automatically with hire.
Which roles and departments at Photon are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Photon's Green Card sponsorship is most active in technical disciplines, including software development, cloud engineering, digital experience, and IT project management. Roles that map to specialty occupation definitions under EB-2 or EB-3 categories tend to be the strongest candidates. Client-facing consulting roles with a clear degree requirement in a related field are also commonly sponsored.
How do I find out if Photon has sponsored roles similar to mine?
Use Migrate Mate to search Photon's verified DOL Labor Condition Application filing history. You can filter by job title and location to see which roles Photon has historically sponsored, what wage levels were certified, and which offices have the most active sponsorship activity. This gives you a concrete basis for targeting your application to the right team.
How does the Green Card application process work at Photon?
For most roles, Photon follows the PERM labor certification route through the DOL, which involves advertising the position, documenting that no qualified U.S. worker was available, and submitting the application for certification. Once PERM is certified, Photon files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Depending on your visa category and country of birth, you may then adjust status in the U.S. or apply through consular processing.
How long does Green Card sponsorship take at a company like Photon?
The PERM labor certification process alone typically takes six to twelve months, and USCIS I-140 adjudication adds additional time. For applicants from countries with high EB-2 or EB-3 demand, the wait after I-140 approval can extend significantly depending on your priority date. Check the USCIS Visa Bulletin regularly once your I-140 is filed to track your place in the queue.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Photon?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
