Target engineering and product roles specifically
Turnitin's Green Card sponsorship activity clusters in software engineering, data science, and product development. When applying, prioritize roles in these functions rather than generalist positions, as specialized technical roles are far more likely to trigger PERM labor certification and Green Card filing.
Understand which Green Card pathway fits your profile
EB-2 requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability and skips ahead of EB-3 in priority dates for most countries. If your role at Turnitin requires a master's degree or specialized expertise, confirm with your recruiter whether the company will support EB-2 rather than defaulting to EB-3.
Verify your prevailing wage before negotiating salary
PERM requires your offered salary to meet DOL prevailing wage levels for your occupation and work location. Run your job title through the OFLC Wage Search before finalizing any offer, so you enter salary negotiations knowing the floor Turnitin's immigration counsel must clear to file.
Ask about sponsorship timelines during offer stage
PERM recruitment, DOL review, and USCIS petition processing can stretch two or more years before your I-140 is approved. During the offer process, ask Turnitin directly whether they initiate PERM after a set tenure period or immediately upon hire, so you can plan your timeline accurately.
Use Migrate Mate to find active Green Card sponsors
Before applying to Turnitin, use Migrate Mate to review DOL labor certification filing data by employer. This helps you confirm current Green Card sponsorship activity, identify which job categories have been sponsored, and target your application to the teams most likely to support a PERM filing.
Align your resume to DOL's occupational definitions
PERM filings require your role to match a recognized occupational classification. Cross-reference your job title and duties against O*NET to ensure your resume language reflects the standardized requirements for your occupation, which strengthens the PERM audit record Turnitin's attorneys will build on your behalf.
Turnitin, Llc Green Card Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Turnitin, Llc sponsor Green Card visas?
Yes, Turnitin sponsors Green Card visas for qualifying employees. Sponsorship is most common in technical roles such as software engineering, data science, and product development. Sponsorship is employer-initiated and typically begins after a period of full-time employment, with the company working with immigration counsel to file PERM labor certification through DOL.
Which roles and departments at Turnitin are most likely to receive Green Card sponsorship?
Green Card sponsorship at Turnitin is concentrated in technology and product functions, particularly software engineers, machine learning engineers, data scientists, and product managers. Corporate and administrative roles are less frequently sponsored. If you're in a technical specialty, your chances of Turnitin initiating a PERM filing on your behalf are substantially higher than in a generalist function.
How do I navigate the Green Card application process at Turnitin?
The process begins with PERM labor certification filed by Turnitin with DOL, which requires the company to conduct a supervised recruitment process proving no qualified U.S. worker is available. After PERM approval, Turnitin files an I-140 immigrant petition with USCIS. Once approved, you apply for an immigrant visa or adjustment of status depending on your current visa status.
How long does the Green Card process typically take at a company like Turnitin?
For most employees at technology companies like Turnitin, the full process from PERM initiation to Green Card approval takes several years. PERM alone can take six months to over a year depending on DOL processing times and whether an audit is triggered. Country of birth significantly affects wait times, as nationals from high-demand countries face priority date backlogs that can extend the timeline further.
How do I find Green Card jobs at Turnitin that include sponsorship?
Job postings rarely confirm Green Card sponsorship explicitly. Use Migrate Mate to search Turnitin's historical DOL labor certification filings by job category, which shows which roles the company has sponsored for permanent residency. Pair that research with direct questions during recruiter screens to confirm whether the specific role you're pursuing qualifies for PERM sponsorship before accepting an offer.
What is the prevailing wage for Green Card sponsorship at Turnitin, Llc?
Employers sponsoring a Green Card through the PERM labor certification process must pay at least the prevailing wage for the role. The Department of Labor determines this rate based on the specific job title, location, and experience level. The prevailing wage is locked in during the PERM filing and applies through the entire Green Card process. You can look up current rates using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
