Tailor your resume to transportation infrastructure
H W Lochner focuses on highways, bridges, and transit projects. Frame your project management experience around DOT-funded or federally regulated work. Reviewers respond to candidates who already understand public-sector delivery structures and agency coordination.
Obtain your PMP or PE license early
Engineering Project Manager roles at a consulting firm like H W Lochner frequently list licensure as a requirement or strong preference. Having a PMP certification or a state PE license before you apply strengthens your H-1B specialty occupation case and your candidacy simultaneously.
Search open roles through Migrate Mate
H W Lochner posts Engineering Project Manager openings across multiple U.S. offices. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles tied to confirmed sponsorship activity so you apply to positions where the pathway is already established.
Ask about LCA scope during offer negotiations
H W Lochner operates in multiple states, and project managers are often deployed to client sites. Confirm whether your Labor Condition Application will cover worksite locations beyond the primary office, since DOL requires LCA coverage for each area of intended employment.
Align your start date with H-1B cap timelines
If you need a cap-subject H-1B, USCIS only accepts petitions from April 1 for an October 1 start. When negotiating your offer, build this into your expected start date so neither you nor H W Lochner are caught off-guard by a six-month gap.
Document multi-disciplinary project leadership clearly
Consulting firms support employer-based Green Card sponsorship through PERM, which requires proving your role requires a degree in a specific field. Keep records of projects where you led engineers across disciplines, since that scope supports a specialty occupation classification at the EB-2 or EB-3 level.
