Target corporate and technical roles
ABM Industries's H-1B sponsorships tend to concentrate in professional functions like engineering, IT, operations management, and corporate services. Focus your applications on roles that clearly require a specialty degree rather than general administrative positions.
Raise sponsorship early in the process
In consulting and professional services, hiring managers often need HR approval before committing to sponsorship. Mention your visa status in your cover letter or initial recruiter screen so the right people are looped in before an offer is extended.
Understand ABM's H-1B timeline requirements
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. Make sure your offer timeline with ABM Industries aligns with this window, especially if you are transitioning from OPT or another status.
Use verified sponsorship data when job searching
Not every ABM Industries job listing will mention visa sponsorship explicitly. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus on ABM roles where H-1B support is actually available.
Prepare for a multi-step internal approval process
Large facilities services companies like ABM Industries often require department-level and HR-level sign-off before initiating an H-1B petition. Ask your recruiter directly about the internal sponsorship approval chain so you can set realistic expectations.
Highlight specialized qualifications clearly
H-1B eligibility at ABM Industries depends on the role qualifying as a specialty occupation. Make sure your resume and interview responses clearly connect your degree field to the specific technical or professional requirements of the position you are pursuing.
ABM Industries H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does ABM Industries sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, ABM Industries sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established sponsorship program and supports H-1B petitions for qualifying professional and technical roles across its operations. Not every position will be eligible, so it is important to confirm sponsorship availability with the recruiter for the specific role you are applying to.
Which roles at ABM Industries are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at ABM Industries is most common in roles that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher, such as engineering, information technology, financial analysis, and operations management. General labor or non-specialty administrative roles are unlikely to qualify because H-1B requires the position itself to meet the specialty occupation standard.
How do I apply for H-1B sponsorship at ABM Industries?
You apply to an open role through ABM Industries's standard hiring process and disclose your need for H-1B sponsorship during the recruiter screen. If the company extends an offer, its HR and legal team will coordinate the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and file the H-1B petition with USCIS. You do not file separately as the employee.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at ABM Industries?
For cap-subject H-1B cases, the process runs roughly six months from lottery registration in March to an October 1 start date. Premium processing, which involves an additional government fee paid by the employer, can accelerate USCIS adjudication to roughly two to three weeks once the petition is filed. Confirm with ABM Industries's HR team whether they offer premium processing.
How do I find open H-1B jobs at ABM Industries?
Start by checking ABM Industries's careers page directly and filtering for professional or technical roles that align with your degree. Migrate Mate is also a useful resource, as it aggregates jobs from verified H-1B sponsors and lets you filter by company, so you can quickly see which ABM Industries openings are associated with an active sponsorship track record.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at ABM Industries?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
