Job Roles at Arup
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Arup H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technical and engineering roles
Arup's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in specialty occupation roles, structural engineering, civil engineering, sustainability consulting, and design technology. Focus your applications on positions where a specific degree field is clearly required, not preferred.
Understand Arup's project-driven hiring cycle
Consulting firms like Arup often hire in response to project pipeline, not on a fixed calendar. Monitor open roles consistently and apply when positions align with active project needs, which signals budget and headcount approval are already in place.
Confirm sponsorship willingness before applying
Not every Arup job posting explicitly states H-1B sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to filter for verified H-1B sponsors and cross-reference Arup's actual filing history so you apply to roles where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Align your degree field with the role requirements
H-1B approval at Arup depends on demonstrating specialty occupation status. Your degree must align directly with the role, a civil engineering position requires an engineering degree, not a related-but-general credential.
Engage with Arup's university recruiting programs
Arup actively recruits from engineering and design schools. Campus recruiting pipelines at firms in this sector often have clearer sponsorship pathways built in, making it a practical entry point for candidates on OPT or transitioning from student status.
Be explicit about your visa timeline during interviews
Consulting firms run structured hiring processes. Raise your H-1B status and cap-subject or cap-exempt situation early so hiring managers can involve HR and legal review before an offer is extended, avoiding delays at the offer stage.

Does Arup sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Arup sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in specialty occupation roles. The firm has a consistent history of filing H-1B petitions across its U.S. offices, particularly for engineering, design, and technical consulting positions. Sponsorship is most common where the role requires a specific degree field and the candidate brings specialized expertise Arup cannot easily source domestically.
Which roles and departments at Arup are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Arup is most common in technical disciplines including structural engineering, civil engineering, mechanical and electrical systems, environmental consulting, and design technology. Roles requiring licensed or degree-specific credentials are the strongest candidates for sponsorship. Business development, general management, and administrative positions are less likely to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B standards.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Arup?
Once Arup extends an offer, their HR team works with an immigration attorney to file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, followed by the H-1B petition with USCIS. If you're cap-subject, the petition must be filed in April for an October 1 start date. Arup's legal team manages the filing, but you'll need to provide educational credentials, employment documents, and passport information in a timely manner.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at Arup?
For cap-subject petitions, the timeline is driven by USCIS, not Arup. The lottery runs in March, regular processing decisions arrive by September, and work authorization begins October 1. Premium processing can accelerate the USCIS decision to 15 business days. If you're already on H-1B status with another employer, a transfer petition can be filed at any time and you can begin working once Arup files.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Arup that are open to international candidates?
Start by searching Arup's careers site and filtering for roles in technical disciplines where your degree matches the requirement. Migrate Mate is a practical complement, it surfaces employers with verified H-1B sponsorship histories so you can focus your search on roles where sponsorship is genuinely on the table rather than guessing from job descriptions that omit visa information.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Arup?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
