Target CDW's technical and solutions divisions
CDW's H-1B sponsorships concentrate in engineering, cloud solutions, cybersecurity, and IT consulting roles. Focusing your application on these functions puts you in the strongest position for sponsorship consideration.
Confirm sponsorship willingness early in the process
CDW sponsors H-1B selectively, so raise your visa status early in recruiter conversations. Asking directly whether the role supports H-1B sponsorship saves time and signals you understand how the process works.
Use verified sponsorship data to find the right roles
Not every CDW opening is eligible for H-1B sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify CDW listings most likely to support your visa.
Align your degree to the specialty occupation requirement
H-1B approval at CDW, like any sponsor, requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Make sure your degree field directly matches the job description before applying to strengthen your petition.
Understand CDW's fiscal year and hiring cycles
CDW's technology hiring often tracks enterprise IT budget cycles. Applying in Q4 and Q1 can align with headcount approvals, giving you better timing for H-1B cap-subject filings ahead of the April lottery window.
Prepare for a structured technical interview process
CDW emphasizes solutions knowledge and client-facing technical skills. Demonstrating expertise in cloud platforms, cybersecurity, or enterprise infrastructure during interviews builds the internal case for extending H-1B sponsorship to your offer.
CDW H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does CDW sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, CDW sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles, primarily in technology and solutions disciplines. Sponsorship is not automatic for every open position, so it is important to confirm with the recruiter early whether a specific role includes H-1B support before investing time in the process.
Which roles and departments at CDW typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
CDW's H-1B sponsorships are concentrated in technical functions including software engineering, cloud and infrastructure solutions, cybersecurity, data analytics, and IT consulting. Corporate roles in sales and general operations are less likely to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B requirements.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at CDW?
Once CDW extends an offer for an H-1B-eligible role, their HR and legal teams coordinate with an immigration attorney to file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and then the H-1B petition with USCIS. You will need to provide educational credentials and employment documents throughout the process.
How do I know if my timeline works for H-1B sponsorship at CDW?
Cap-subject H-1B petitions can only be filed once per year, with employment starting October 1 at the earliest. If you are on OPT, confirm your OPT end date against CDW's expected start date and whether a STEM OPT extension could bridge any gap while your petition is pending.
How do I find CDW H-1B jobs that are actually open to sponsorship?
Job listings rarely specify H-1B sponsorship clearly, which makes filtering difficult on general job boards. Migrate Mate is built specifically for this, letting you search CDW openings with verified sponsorship history so you can focus on roles where international candidates have a real path to approval.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at CDW?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
