As a consulting and professional services company, Clean Harbors values candidates who can demonstrate field-specific knowledge and client-facing capability. Highlight project experience in environmental remediation, hazardous waste, or regulatory compliance to strengthen your H-1B sponsorship case.
Align your degree to the specialty occupation standard
H-1B approval depends on your role qualifying as a specialty occupation. Confirm your degree field directly corresponds to the technical requirements of the job posting, since Clean Harbors operates in regulated industries where credential alignment is closely scrutinized.
Engage early with HR about sponsorship willingness
Clean Harbors sponsors selectively, so ask directly about H-1B sponsorship during your recruiter conversation, before investing time in interviews. Framing it as a practical question about company policy signals preparedness rather than hesitation.

Does CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Clean Harbors Environmental Services does sponsor H-1B visas. The company sponsors selectively, focusing on specialized technical roles in environmental services, engineering, and consulting. Sponsorship is most common for positions where a specific degree and technical expertise are genuine job requirements, so your qualifications and role fit matter significantly.
Which roles and departments at CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Clean Harbors is concentrated in technical and professional roles, including environmental engineers, chemists, industrial hygienists, health and safety specialists, and environmental scientists. These positions align with the specialty occupation standard that H-1B requires, making them the strongest candidates for sponsorship within the organization.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES?
Once you receive and accept an offer, Clean Harbors works with an immigration attorney to file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor and then submits your H-1B petition to USCIS. The process requires close coordination between you, your hiring manager, and HR, so confirm sponsorship intent before signing anything and provide all required documentation promptly.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES?
The full H-1B process typically takes several months from offer to approved status. After the LCA is certified, the petition goes to USCIS, where standard processing can take three to six months. Premium processing, which expedites the USCIS decision to roughly 15 business days, is available and worth discussing with your HR contact if your timeline is tight.
How do I find H-1B jobs at CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES?
Start by searching Clean Harbors' careers page for technical and environmental roles, then verify sponsorship history before applying. Migrate Mate lets you filter job opportunities by confirmed H-1B sponsors, so you can identify roles at Clean Harbors where sponsorship has historically been offered rather than guessing from the job posting alone.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at CLEAN HARBORS ENVIRONMENTAL SERVICES?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
