Align your credentials to specialty occupation
Cumming Group's H-1B filings typically support roles requiring a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related field like construction management, engineering, or finance. Confirm your degree maps to your target role before applying, because USCIS evaluates the degree-to-job match, not just your experience.
Target cost and program management openings
H-1B sponsorship at Cumming Group concentrates in cost management, owner's representation, and program advisory roles. Filter your job search to these practice areas, not general consulting listings, since those positions generate the most consistent sponsorship history within the firm's professional services structure.
Research prevailing wage before salary negotiations
Before you receive an offer, look up the wage level for your role and location using the OFLC Wage Search. Cumming Group's LCA must certify a wage at or above that threshold, so knowing Level I through Level IV distinctions helps you evaluate whether an offer reflects a sponsorable position.
Raise sponsorship early in your interview process
Consulting firms like Cumming Group often make sponsorship decisions at the hiring manager level before HR gets involved. Ask directly during your first substantive interview whether the role has been sponsored before, so you avoid reaching the offer stage with an employer who hasn't cleared internal approval for H-1B.
Use Migrate Mate to check Cumming Group's LCA history
Pull Cumming Group's Labor Condition Application filings through Migrate Mate to see which job titles and office locations have active sponsorship history. This lets you apply to roles with a documented track record rather than guessing which positions the firm will support through the H-1B process.
Prepare your cap-subject timeline before the lottery
If you're on OPT or CPT, your H-1B must be filed during the April registration window for an October 1 start date. Confirm with Cumming Group's HR team whether their filing cycle aligns with your work authorization expiration, because a gap between OPT end and cap-gap coverage can affect your employment continuity.
Cumming Group H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Cumming Group sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Cumming Group sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying professional roles. The firm's sponsorship activity is concentrated in cost management, program management, and owner's representation positions that meet USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Candidates with degrees in construction management, engineering, or related fields are the most common fit for sponsored roles.
Which roles at Cumming Group are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Cumming Group is most consistently tied to technical and advisory roles, including cost managers, project controls specialists, and program advisors. These positions require a degree in a specific professional field, which satisfies the USCIS specialty occupation standard. General administrative or business development roles are less likely to qualify.
How do I start the H-1B application process at Cumming Group?
The process begins when Cumming Group's HR team submits your role for a Labor Condition Application through DOL. USCIS registration opens each March for a lottery, and the petition is filed in April if selected. You'll need to provide academic credentials, employment verification, and role documentation to support the petition. USCIS reviews the full package after submission.
How long does H-1B processing take at Cumming Group?
Standard H-1B processing at USCIS takes several months after the April filing deadline, with employment beginning October 1 at the earliest for cap-subject cases. Premium processing is available for a faster decision, typically within a few weeks. Cumming Group's HR team can advise whether premium processing is offered for your specific position.
How do I find open H-1B roles at Cumming Group?
Search Cumming Group's careers page and filter for roles in cost management, program management, and advisory services. Migrate Mate also surfaces Cumming Group's active H-1B sponsorship history by job title and location, so you can prioritize applications to roles with a documented sponsorship track record rather than applying broadly across all open positions.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Cumming Group?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
