Target Dexcom's technical and engineering divisions
Dexcom's H-1B sponsorships concentrate in roles tied to device development, software engineering, and data science. Focusing your application on these functions improves your odds of landing a position that qualifies for sponsorship.
Verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every open role at Dexcom comes with H-1B sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify which Dexcom positions have a genuine track record of supporting visa applicants.
Understand the medical device hiring timeline
Medical device companies like Dexcom often move through extended interview cycles involving cross-functional panels. Build extra lead time into your job search to ensure Dexcom can file your H-1B petition well before any OPT or grace period deadline.
Highlight regulatory and compliance expertise
Dexcom operates under strict FDA oversight, so candidates who demonstrate familiarity with medical device regulations, quality systems, or clinical data standards stand out and are more likely to be considered for sponsored technical roles.
Engage Dexcom recruiters early about sponsorship
Raise the H-1B question during initial recruiter conversations, not after an offer. Dexcom's HR and legal teams coordinate sponsorship internally, and flagging your status early prevents surprises and allows the company to plan the petition timeline.
Align your degree to the specialty occupation standard
H-1B approval at Dexcom requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation. Engineering, computer science, biology, and related technical degrees align well with Dexcom's core functions and strengthen the petition's foundation.
Dexcom H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Dexcom sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Dexcom sponsors H-1B visas for qualified candidates in technical and scientific roles. The company has an established sponsorship process and works with immigration counsel to file petitions on behalf of selected employees. Sponsorship is typically tied to roles where a specialized degree is a genuine requirement of the position.
Which roles and departments at Dexcom typically receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Dexcom is most common in software engineering, hardware and electrical engineering, data science, regulatory affairs, and clinical research. These departments rely on specialized technical knowledge that aligns with the specialty occupation standard. General business, sales, and customer support roles are less frequently sponsored.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Dexcom?
Once Dexcom extends an offer, the company's HR team coordinates with immigration attorneys to prepare your H-1B petition. You will provide educational credentials, employment documents, and personal information. Dexcom handles the filing directly with USCIS. Your role is to respond quickly to document requests and stay in close contact with the internal HR contact managing your case.
How do I find H-1B sponsorship jobs at Dexcom?
Searching Dexcom's careers page is a starting point, but listings rarely specify whether H-1B sponsorship is available for a given role. Migrate Mate filters job opportunities by verified sponsorship history, making it easier to identify Dexcom positions where international candidates have been sponsored before, saving you from applying to roles unlikely to support your visa.
What is the typical timeline for H-1B sponsorship at Dexcom?
From accepted offer to an active H-1B status, the process generally spans several months. Dexcom must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor before submitting the I-129 petition to USCIS. Standard processing takes three to five months. Premium processing, which Dexcom may elect to use, can shorten USCIS review to around two weeks.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Dexcom?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
