Job Roles at Lam Research
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Lam Research H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and R&D roles first
Lam Research's H-1B sponsorship concentrates in semiconductor process engineering, equipment design, and applied research. Focusing your applications on these technical functions gives you the strongest chance of landing a role that qualifies for sponsorship.
Align your degree to the specific role
H-1B approval at Lam Research depends on a clear match between your degree field and the job. Electrical engineering, materials science, chemical engineering, and physics degrees align well with the company's core hiring categories.
Engage early in the recruitment cycle
Lam Research plans H-1B filings around the April cap season. Connecting with their talent acquisition team in the fall and winter gives you the best chance of being included in that year's sponsorship cycle before slots fill.
Use verified sponsorship data when searching
Not every job listing signals real sponsorship intent. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, making it easier to identify active Lam Research openings where H-1B support is confirmed.
Highlight hands-on technical experience relevant to semiconductor equipment
Lam Research operates in a highly specialized industry. Demonstrating direct experience with etch, deposition, or process control systems in your resume strengthens both your candidacy and the employer's case for H-1B specialty occupation classification.
Prepare for a structured interview process
Lam Research runs multi-round technical interviews for engineering hires. Arriving prepared with strong answers on domain-specific problems signals the depth of expertise that supports the specialty occupation standard required for H-1B approval.

Does Lam Research sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Lam Research sponsors H-1B visas and does so on a regular basis. The company actively hires international talent for specialized technical roles across its U.S. operations, particularly in engineering and research functions where the specialty occupation standard is straightforward to establish.
Which roles and departments at Lam Research are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Lam Research is most common in semiconductor process engineering, equipment engineering, software development, and materials science research. Corporate functions like finance and supply chain occasionally receive sponsorship too, but technical and R&D roles represent the core of the company's H-1B hiring.
How does the H-1B application process work at Lam Research?
Once you receive and accept an offer, Lam Research's immigration team coordinates with outside counsel to prepare your H-1B petition. This includes securing a Labor Condition Application from the Department of Labor, compiling your credential documentation, and filing Form I-129 with USCIS. The employer handles filing; your role is to provide accurate records promptly.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Lam Research?
Standard H-1B processing runs three to six months after USCIS receipt. If Lam Research opts for premium processing, USCIS adjudicates the petition within 15 business days. Factor in the April 1 filing window and October 1 start date for cap-subject cases, as timing around the lottery significantly affects when you can begin work.
How do I find open H-1B jobs at Lam Research?
Search Lam Research's careers page and filter for engineering and technical roles in U.S. locations. Migrate Mate also lists verified H-1B sponsor openings, letting you confirm Lam Research's sponsorship track record before applying. Reaching out to Lam Research recruiters on professional networks during fall hiring cycles can surface roles before they are broadly advertised.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Lam Research?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
