Target clinical and research postings directly
Loma Linda University Health's H-1B filings concentrate in clinical medicine, nursing, and academic research. Focus your search on roles tied to its hospital system and university programs rather than administrative positions, which rarely attract sponsorship at academic medical centers.
Verify your occupation qualifies as specialty
Before applying, confirm your target role meets the H-1B specialty occupation standard by checking O*NET for the job zone and degree requirement. Clinical and research roles at Loma Linda typically clear this bar, but hybrid or support roles sometimes don't without a direct-field degree.
Benchmark your salary against prevailing wage
Loma Linda University Health must pay the DOL prevailing wage for your role and location. Use the OFLC Wage Search to look up the wage level for your occupation in the Inland Empire region before your offer conversation, so you can negotiate from an informed position.
Ask HR about sponsorship policy during interviews
Academic medical centers vary widely on who approves H-1B sponsorship decisions. At Loma Linda, department chairs and HR often share that authority. Ask directly during the offer stage whether the department has sponsored the role before and who owns the final filing decision.
File before the April 1 cap deadline
USCIS accepts H-1B cap registrations only during a short window in March each year, with an October 1 start date for selected petitions. Confirm with Loma Linda's HR team that your paperwork is complete well in advance so the institution can file on your behalf without a last-minute scramble.
Use Migrate Mate to track Loma Linda's filing history
Search Migrate Mate to review Loma Linda University Health's verified LCA filing history by job title and department. That data shows which roles and pay levels they've committed to sponsoring, giving you a concrete starting point before you invest time in a long application process.
Loma Linda University Health H-1B Visa Sponsorship: Frequently Asked Questions
Does Loma Linda University Health sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Loma Linda University Health sponsors H-1B visas. Sponsorship is concentrated in clinical medicine, nursing, and academic research roles tied to its hospital system and university programs. Sponsorship decisions are made at the department level in coordination with HR, so direct outreach to the hiring team is often the most reliable way to confirm availability for a specific position.
Which roles and departments typically receive H-1B sponsorship at Loma Linda University Health?
Physicians, nurses, pharmacists, researchers, and allied health professionals are the most common H-1B beneficiaries at Loma Linda University Health. Academic and clinical departments within the medical center and university drive most sponsorships. Administrative, facilities, and general support roles are rarely sponsored because they do not consistently meet the specialty occupation standard USCIS requires.
How do I start the H-1B sponsorship process at Loma Linda University Health?
The process begins after you receive a job offer. Loma Linda's HR team works with an immigration attorney to file the Labor Condition Application with DOL, then submits the H-1B petition to USCIS. You can use Migrate Mate to review Loma Linda's prior LCA filings, which helps you understand what roles and wage levels the institution has committed to before your offer conversation.
How long does H-1B sponsorship take at Loma Linda University Health?
Standard H-1B processing through USCIS takes several months after the April filing deadline, with an October 1 start date for cap-subject petitions. Premium processing is available and typically yields a decision within weeks. Loma Linda's internal preparation timeline, including LCA certification with DOL, adds several weeks before the petition itself can be filed.
How do I improve my chances of getting H-1B sponsorship at Loma Linda University Health?
Confirm your role is a specialty occupation using O*NET before applying. Research the DOL prevailing wage for your occupation in the Inland Empire using the OFLC Wage Search so your salary expectations are realistic. Ask about the department's prior sponsorship history during the offer stage, and ensure all credential documentation, including foreign degree evaluations, is ready before HR initiates the LCA filing.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Loma Linda University Health?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
