Job Roles at Sanmina
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Sanmina H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target engineering and technical roles
Sanmina's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in electronics manufacturing, hardware engineering, and process improvement roles. Focus your search on positions requiring specialized technical skills where the company has a genuine business need for international talent.
Understand the H-1B specialty occupation requirement
Your role at Sanmina must qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning it requires at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Roles in electrical engineering, quality systems, and supply chain management tend to meet this threshold most reliably.
Raise sponsorship early in the interview process
Sanmina is a large manufacturer with structured HR processes. Mentioning H-1B sponsorship in your first conversation, rather than after receiving an offer, lets the company's HR team assess feasibility before both sides invest significant time.
Use a verified sponsor filter when searching
Not every Sanmina job listing will mention visa sponsorship. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify which Sanmina roles are realistically open to H-1B candidates before applying.
Align your degree field with the job description
In electronics and hardware manufacturing, USCIS scrutinizes whether your degree directly relates to the offered role. A mechanical engineering degree supporting a process engineering role at Sanmina is a strong match. A general business degree is not.
Prepare for the prevailing wage requirement
Sanmina must certify your offered salary meets the Department of Labor's prevailing wage for your role and location. Research wage levels for comparable positions in Sanmina's operating markets so you enter salary negotiations with realistic expectations.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sanmina sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Sanmina sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying roles in its U.S. operations. Sponsorship is focused on technical and engineering positions where specialized skills are required. Because H-1B sponsorship involves meaningful employer cost and effort, it tends to be reserved for roles that are genuinely difficult to fill domestically.
Which roles and departments at Sanmina are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Sanmina is most common in engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing engineering, as well as quality assurance, supply chain, and IT functions. These areas align with Sanmina's core electronics and hardware manufacturing business and require degrees in specific technical fields, which is central to the H-1B specialty occupation standard.
How do I navigate the H-1B application process at Sanmina?
Once Sanmina extends a job offer and confirms sponsorship, the company's HR team or outside immigration counsel files a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, then submits an H-1B petition to USCIS on your behalf. You don't file anything directly. Your role is to provide supporting documents, including your degree transcripts, credentials, and any prior visa records the attorney requests.
How long does it take to get H-1B sponsorship through Sanmina?
The timeline depends on where you are in the process. If you require H-1B cap registration, that happens once per year in March, with selection results in April and the earliest employment start date of October 1. If you're transferring an existing H-1B from another employer, Sanmina can file a transfer petition and you can begin working once USCIS receives it, without waiting for approval.
How do I find H-1B jobs at Sanmina that are open to visa sponsorship?
Standard job boards rarely indicate whether a specific listing includes H-1B sponsorship. Migrate Mate filters jobs by verified sponsorship history, so you can identify which Sanmina openings are realistically available to H-1B candidates rather than applying broadly and raising sponsorship late in the process. Applying to roles where sponsorship is already confirmed saves significant time on both sides.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Sanmina?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
