Job Roles at Switch
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Switch H-1B Visa Sponsorship Jobs USA
Target technical and engineering roles
Switch's H-1B sponsorship is concentrated in specialty occupation roles within its technology and software divisions. Focus your applications on engineering, infrastructure, and software development positions where H-1B eligibility is clearest and employer willingness to sponsor is strongest.
Confirm sponsorship willingness early in the process
Not every open role at Switch will come with H-1B sponsorship. Ask directly during your initial recruiter screen whether the specific position supports visa sponsorship, so you avoid investing time in a process that won't lead to an offer.
Use verified sponsorship data to prioritize your search
Sponsorship claims on job boards aren't always reliable. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify whether Switch is actively filing H-1Bs for the role type you're targeting.
Highlight specialty occupation alignment in your application
Switch's H-1B petitions need to demonstrate that the role qualifies as a specialty occupation requiring a relevant degree. Tailor your resume to show the direct connection between your academic background and the specific technical responsibilities of the role.
Prepare for a longer hiring process if H-1B is involved
Roles requiring H-1B sponsorship at technology companies like Switch often involve additional internal approvals and legal review before an offer is extended. Build extra lead time into your job search and follow up proactively after interviews to keep your candidacy moving.

Does Switch sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Switch does sponsor H-1B visas, primarily for roles in its technology and software operations. Sponsorship is not available for every open position, so candidates should confirm with the recruiter at the start of the process whether the specific role they are applying for includes H-1B support.
Which roles at Switch are most likely to receive H-1B sponsorship?
H-1B sponsorship at Switch is most common in technical specialty occupation roles, including software engineering, network infrastructure, and systems roles. Positions that require a specific bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field are the strongest candidates for H-1B eligibility. General business or operations roles are less likely to qualify.
How do I apply for a role at Switch that includes H-1B sponsorship?
Apply through Switch's careers page and flag your need for H-1B sponsorship in your application or during the initial recruiter conversation. If you're using Migrate Mate, you can filter for verified H-1B sponsors to confirm Switch's sponsorship activity before applying, which helps you prioritize your outreach and avoid wasted effort.
How long does the H-1B sponsorship process take at a company like Switch?
From offer acceptance to an approved H-1B petition typically takes several months. The employer must file a Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor, then submit the H-1B petition to USCIS, which has a six-month standard processing window. Premium processing can reduce USCIS review to a few weeks, though this does not affect the October 1 start date for cap-subject petitions.
What can I do to strengthen my H-1B application at Switch?
Clearly demonstrate the connection between your degree and the specific technical role you are applying for, since USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation eligibility closely. Gather strong academic credentials, reference letters, and any certifications relevant to your field. Communicate openly with Switch's HR team about your visa timeline so they can plan petition filing accordingly.
What is the prevailing wage for H-1B jobs at Switch?
H-1B employers must pay at least the prevailing wage, which is determined when they file the Labor Condition Application with the Department of Labor. The rate is based on the role, location, and experience level, and ensures international hires are paid comparably to U.S. workers in the same position. You can look up prevailing wage rates for any occupation and location using the DOL's OFLC Wage Search tool.
