Align your credentials with U.S. licensing requirements
Before applying, confirm your nursing license is recognized in the state where Hanger has an opening. Foreign-trained nurses often need NCLEX passage and credential evaluation through CGFNS, which takes months and affects your visa timeline.
Target Hanger's clinic-based nursing openings specifically
Hanger operates specialty clinics focused on orthotics and prosthetics, so nursing roles there emphasize rehabilitation and post-surgical patient support. Tailor your resume to highlight musculoskeletal care, wound assessment, or prosthetic fitting assistance rather than general acute care experience.
Browse open Hanger nursing roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Hanger nursing positions by visa type so you surface only the roles compatible with your status. This saves time you'd otherwise spend contacting recruiters about sponsorship availability upfront.
Confirm the role qualifies as a specialty occupation
USCIS requires H-1B roles to meet specialty occupation criteria. For nursing, this typically means an advanced practice or specialized clinical role rather than a general floor nurse position. Ask the recruiter directly which nursing titles Hanger has filed H-1B petitions for previously.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer deadline
Your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before submitting your H-1B petition to USCIS. Ask Hanger's HR or immigration counsel for the expected LCA filing timeline so credential verification and prevailing wage determinations don't delay your start date.

Find Nursing at Hanger JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Hanger sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Hanger has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing-related roles, though sponsorship decisions depend on the specific position and your qualifications. Specialty or advanced practice nursing roles are more likely to meet USCIS specialty occupation criteria than general nursing positions. Confirm with the recruiter during the offer stage which titles the company has sponsored before.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Hanger?
You can search for open Hanger nursing positions through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you only see positions relevant to your work authorization. Apply directly through Hanger's careers portal and note your visa status in your cover letter. Follow up with the recruiter to confirm sponsorship is available for the specific role before investing time in the process.
Which visa types does Hanger commonly use for Nursing roles?
Hanger has worked with H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visa categories for nursing hires. TN visas apply only to Canadian and Mexican nurses who hold a bachelor's degree in nursing. F-1 OPT allows recent graduates to work while the employer evaluates fit before committing to an H-1B petition. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree, and how much lead time is available.
What qualifications does Hanger expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
Hanger's nursing roles are typically tied to its orthotics and prosthetics clinic environment, so experience in rehabilitation, post-surgical care, or musculoskeletal assessment is a practical advantage. You'll need an active U.S. state nursing license, which for internationally trained nurses means passing the NCLEX and completing a CGFNS credential evaluation before a visa petition can move forward.
How do I plan my timeline when targeting a sponsored Nursing role at Hanger?
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once a year, with employment starting October 1 if selected. If you're on OPT and your authorization expires before October, ask whether Hanger can support a cap-exempt filing or bridge you through an alternative status. USCIS premium processing is available and can reduce adjudication to around 15 business days, which matters when your authorization window is tight.
