Align your credentials with U.S. construction standards
KSU facilities roles often require licensure or certification recognized in Georgia. Get your foreign credentials evaluated by a NACES-accredited agency before applying so your application clears HR screening without delays.
Target facilities and capital projects departments directly
KSU's construction hiring runs through Facilities Planning and Space Management, not a central HR portal. Reaching out to that department signals genuine interest and gets your application in front of the people managing active projects.
Understand how university sponsorship timelines work
Public universities like KSU move on fiscal-year hiring cycles. Roles tied to capital construction budgets often open in spring. Timing your application around budget approvals can meaningfully improve your chances of landing a sponsored offer.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open construction roles
Construction openings at large universities fill quickly and aren't always easy to track. Use Migrate Mate to filter KSU's active construction jobs by visa sponsorship eligibility so you're applying to roles that are actually open to international candidates.

Find Construction at Kennesaw State University JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Kennesaw State University sponsor H-1B visas for Construction roles?
Yes, Kennesaw State University sponsors H-1B visas, including for Construction positions. As a public university and established USCIS petitioner, KSU has the infrastructure to handle H-1B filings. Construction roles must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS criteria, which typically means the position requires at least a bachelor's degree in a specific field like civil engineering, construction management, or architecture.
Which visa types are commonly used for Construction roles at Kennesaw State University?
KSU sponsors several visa categories for staff and project roles. H-1B is the most common path for construction professionals in specialty occupation roles. F-1 OPT and CPT apply to recent graduates in construction management or engineering. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying construction-related occupations. J-1 visas are occasionally used for research or exchange-based positions tied to construction projects.
What qualifications and experience does Kennesaw State University expect for Construction positions?
KSU's construction roles span project management, facilities maintenance, and capital planning. Specialty occupation roles requiring H-1B sponsorship typically require a bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field. Licensure from Georgia's State Licensing Board for Residential and General Contractors is relevant for senior positions. Hands-on experience with large institutional or public sector projects strengthens your application significantly.
How do I apply for Construction jobs at Kennesaw State University?
Applications go through KSU's official careers portal at kennesaw.edu. To find roles that explicitly support visa sponsorship, browse Migrate Mate's filtered listings for KSU's construction openings, which surface positions open to international candidates. When applying, tailor your materials to KSU's institutional context, specifically referencing experience with campus infrastructure, public procurement, or higher education facilities projects.
How do I understand the timeline for getting sponsored for a Construction role at Kennesaw State University?
The timeline depends on your visa category and current status. H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so your offer needs to come well before that window. OPT holders have a 60-day grace period after program end. TN visas can be processed at the border with an offer letter, making them faster. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes one to three years from initiation to approval.
