Align Your Credentials to FINRA Expectations
Service Specialist roles in financial services often require or prefer FINRA Series 6 or Series 63 licenses. Completing these before applying signals readiness and removes a common hiring hesitation around onboarding timelines for sponsored candidates.
Target Open Roles Through Kestra's Career Portal
Kestra Financial posts Service Specialist openings across multiple locations and business units. Filtering by operations or client services functions helps you identify the roles most likely to involve the financial planning support work tied to past sponsorship activity.
Clarify Sponsorship Scope in Early Conversations
Kestra Financial sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for this role, which involves PERM labor certification filed through DOL. Ask your recruiter early whether the offer includes employer-sponsored PERM support, since the process takes 12 to 24 months and employer commitment matters from day one.
Build Experience in RIA or Independent Broker-Dealer Environments
Kestra operates as an independent broker-dealer network. Candidates with prior client servicing experience inside RIA platforms or custodian operations teams will match the workflow profile hiring managers look for, strengthening both your application and the specialty occupation case for H-1B or EB sponsorship.
Document Foreign Degree Equivalency Before Filing
If your bachelor's degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-approved provider before your employer files with USCIS. A three-year degree from certain countries may require a combination of education and experience to meet EB-2 or EB-3 minimums under PERM regulations.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Active Openings
Service Specialist positions at Kestra Financial are distributed across locations and open on a rolling basis. Use Migrate Mate to filter for Kestra Financial roles that align with visa sponsorship, so you can track openings that match your timeline and status without manually monitoring multiple job boards.

Find Service Specialist at Kestra Financial JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Kestra Financial sponsor H-1B visas for Service Specialists?
Kestra Financial's documented sponsorship activity for Service Specialist roles is focused on employment-based immigrant visa categories rather than H-1B. If you're currently on H-1B status and targeting a long-term path, the more relevant conversation with Kestra's HR team is whether they'll sponsor PERM-based Green Card processing under EB-2 or EB-3, which is where their sponsorship track record sits.
Which visa types are commonly used for Service Specialist roles at Kestra Financial?
Kestra Financial has sponsored Service Specialists through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. Both require PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before USCIS can process the immigrant petition. EB-2 typically requires an advanced degree or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers professionals with a bachelor's degree, making it accessible for most qualified Service Specialist candidates.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Service Specialist roles at Kestra Financial?
Most Service Specialist roles at Kestra Financial involve supporting independent financial advisors with account operations, client onboarding, and platform management. A bachelor's degree in finance, business, or a related field is generally expected. Prior experience inside an independent broker-dealer, RIA custodian, or financial operations environment is a strong differentiator, and FINRA licensing such as Series 6 or 63 may be required or preferred depending on the specific opening.
How do I apply for Service Specialist jobs at Kestra Financial?
Applications go through Kestra Financial's careers page, where Service Specialist openings are listed by location and department. You can also find and track Kestra Financial's Service Specialist roles on Migrate Mate, which filters specifically for positions with visa sponsorship relevance. When applying, address your work authorization status directly in your cover materials so the hiring team can route your application appropriately from the start.
How long does the sponsorship process typically take for a Service Specialist at Kestra Financial?
For EB-2 or EB-3 sponsorship, the PERM labor certification stage alone typically takes 12 to 18 months with the Department of Labor before the I-140 immigrant petition can be filed with USCIS. If your country of birth has a visa backlog, the total wait can extend significantly beyond that. Starting the conversation with your hiring manager and HR contact early in the offer negotiation stage is essential to aligning timelines.
