Notice To Applicants
We have seen a rise in recruitment scams. Please note that outreach from Khan Academy recruiters will only come from the @khanacademy.org domain. Our team does not use Gmail or other personal accounts for contacting potential candidates. Khan Academy will never solicit money, equipment fees, or sensitive financial information at any stage of the hiring process. We also do not work with external recruiting agencies, so outreach from headhunters presenting opportunities on behalf of Khan Academy is illegitimate. Please always check the email domain and cross-reference the position with the official Khan Academy Careers page to confirm an opening is valid.

* You’ll explore ways to integrate our AI-powered tutor, Khanmigo, into our content to provide more tailored and interactive learning experiences to students.
* You’ll leave your internship with a deeper understanding of what content creation looks like in an educational technology company and will be empowered to make informed decisions about the next steps of your career, whether they include remaining in a school- or district-based role or transitioning to a career in edtech.

Our Company Values
Live & breathe learners
We deeply understand and empathize with our users. We leverage user insights, research, and experience to build content, products, services, and experiences that our users trust and love. Our success is defined by the success of our learners and educators.
Take a stand
As a company, we have conviction in our aspirational point of view of how education will evolve. The work we do is in service to moving towards that point of view. However, we also listen, learn and flex in the face of new data, and commit to evolving this point of view as the industry and our users evolve.
Embrace diverse perspectives
We are a diverse community. We seek out and embrace a diversity of voices, perspectives and life experiences leading to stronger, more inclusive teams and better outcomes. As individuals, we are committed to bringing up tough topics and leaning into different points of view with curiosity. We actively listen, learn and collaborate to gain a shared understanding. When a decision is made, we commit to moving forward as a united team.
Work responsibly and sustainably
We understand that achieving our audacious mission is a marathon, so we set realistic timelines and we focus on delivery that also links to the bigger picture. As a non-profit, we are supported by the generosity of donors as well as strategic partners, and understand our responsibility to our finite resources. We spend every dollar as though it were our own. We are responsible for the impact we have on the world and to each other. We ensure our team and company stay healthy and financially sustainable.
Bring out the joy
We are committed to making learning a joyful process. This informs what we build for our users and the culture we co-create with our teammates, partners and donors.
Cultivate learning mindset
We believe in the power of growth for learners and for ourselves. We constantly learn and teach to improve our offerings, ourselves, and our organization. We learn from our mistakes and aren’t afraid to fail. We don't let past failures or successes stop us from taking future bold action and achieving our goals.
Deliver wow
We insist on high standards and deliver delightful, effective end-to-end experiences that our users can rely on. We choose to focus on fewer things — each of which aligns to our ambitious vision — so we can deliver high-quality experiences that accelerate positive measurable learning with our strategic partners.
We are committed to equal employment opportunity regardless of race, color, ancestry, religion, sex, gender, gender identity or expression, national origin, sexual orientation, age, citizenship, marital status, disability, or Veteran status. Job Roles at Khan Academy Companies
How to Get Visa Sponsorship in Khan Academy Visa Sponsorship USA
Target engineering and product roles first
Khan Academy's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical and product functions. If you're a software engineer, data scientist, or product manager, these roles represent your strongest path to a sponsored position at the organization.
Understand the nonprofit hiring pace
As a nonprofit, Khan Academy hires deliberately and at a measured pace. Apply early, follow up thoughtfully, and expect a longer decision cycle than you'd find at a larger tech company. Patience and persistence matter here.
Highlight mission alignment in your application
Khan Academy evaluates candidates on cultural fit alongside technical skill. Demonstrating genuine commitment to accessible education, not just job-seeking convenience, strengthens your application and signals you'll thrive in a mission-driven environment.
Find verified openings through Migrate Mate
Confirmed visa sponsors can be hard to identify from job postings alone. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus your search on Khan Academy roles where sponsorship is genuinely available.

Get Access To All JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Khan Academy sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Khan Academy sponsors H-1B visas. Sponsorship is primarily associated with technical roles such as software engineering and product, where specialized skills align with H-1B specialty occupation requirements. If you're targeting Khan Academy for H-1B sponsorship, focus your application on engineering, data, or product positions where the need for sponsored talent is most consistent.
Which visa types does Khan Academy support beyond H-1B?
In addition to the H-1B, Khan Academy has supported F-1 OPT candidates and TN visa holders. F-1 OPT is a common entry point for recent graduates, while TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional roles. If you hold a different visa status, confirm eligibility directly with Khan Academy's recruiting team.
Which departments or roles at Khan Academy are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Khan Academy is most commonly associated with technical functions, including software engineering, infrastructure, data engineering, and product management. Education content and curriculum roles exist at the organization but have historically been less associated with visa sponsorship. Candidates with specialized technical backgrounds are best positioned to receive sponsorship consideration.
What does the hiring and sponsorship timeline look like at Khan Academy?
As a nonprofit, Khan Academy tends to move more deliberately through its hiring process than larger tech companies. Expect several interview rounds spanning three to six weeks from initial contact to offer. If visa sponsorship is required, factor in additional time for petition preparation. Applying during active hiring cycles, rather than speculatively, improves your chances of moving efficiently through the process.
How do I find Khan Academy job openings that offer visa sponsorship?
The most reliable approach is to search directly on Khan Academy's careers page and cross-reference with a platform that tracks real sponsorship history. Migrate Mate lets you filter companies by verified sponsorship activity, so you can quickly confirm which open roles at Khan Academy are realistically accessible to international candidates rather than relying on job descriptions that rarely mention sponsorship explicitly.
