The impact you’ll make
The Senior Business Systems Analyst (SBSA) – Enterprise Role Management is responsible for the design, development, governance, and lifecycle management of Enterprise Role definitions across a large, global semiconductor manufacturing organization. This role partners closely with senior business leaders, role owners, and process owners who are responsible for the company’s most critical end-to-end business processes—similar in scope and complexity to those typically addressed in major ERP implementations.
The primary objective of this role is to define and sustain workforce Enterprise Roles by:
- Clearly documenting business responsibilities.
- Mapping those responsibilities to L4 and L5 business processes.
- Aligning processes to the applications that support them.
- Ensuring Enterprise Roles are consistently translated into application-level roles and entitlements.
This role serves as a cross-functional organizer, facilitator, and leader, establishing clear ownership and accountability to ensure the Enterprise Role Catalog remains accurate, scalable, auditable, and sustainable over the long term.
What you’ll do
Enterprise Role Definition & Lifecycle Management
- Lead the end-to-end lifecycle management of Enterprise Roles, including creation, validation, maintenance, certification, and retirement.
- Define Enterprise Roles based on workforce responsibilities and business accountability, rather than individual applications or legacy access models.
- Establish and maintain a centralized, authoritative Enterprise Role Catalog used across Business, IT, Identity, and Security functions.
- Partner with designated Enterprise Role Owners to ensure role definitions accurately reflect business intent and operational reality.
- Ensure each Enterprise Role has a clearly documented owner responsible for long-term alignment across people, processes, and systems.
Enterprise Role Ownership, Alignment & Accountability
- Establish and formalize Enterprise Role Owners in collaboration with business and process leadership to ensure clear accountability for role accuracy and sustainability.
- Define and document role owner responsibilities, including stewardship of business responsibilities, L4/L5 process mappings, and application alignment.
- Serve as the primary facilitator connecting role owners, process owners, and application owners to ensure consistent and traceable mapping of people processes, systems.
- Enable clear communication, decision-making, and escalation paths for role definition, changes, and exceptions.
- Ensure role owners are actively engaged throughout the role lifecycle, including onboarding of new roles, periodic reviews, and change management.
Business Process Mapping & Analysis
- Partner with business leaders, process owners, and Enterprise Role Owners to document and maintain L4 and L5 business processes across core enterprise domains.
- Translate business process ownership into clear role accountability and responsibility models.
- Ensure accountability for process-to-role mappings is clearly assigned, validated, and documented.
- Align process definitions with ERP-based operating models and enterprise process standards.
Application & Entitlement Mapping
- Map Enterprise Roles to the enterprise applications that support assigned business processes, including ERP, MES, PLM, SCM, Finance, HR, and custom systems.
- Partner with application owners, security teams, and Enterprise Role Owners to define application-level roles and entitlements that support each Enterprise Role.
- Ensure Enterprise Roles translate into consistent, reusable, and least-privilege access models at the application level.
- Validate that application access accurately enables L4/L5 processes without over-provisioning or unnecessary risk.
- Ensure role owners review and approve how Enterprise Roles are implemented across systems.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Act as a trusted advisor and facilitator to business leaders, role owners, process owners, IT, Security, and Identity teams.
- Lead structured workshops and working sessions to drive consensus on role definitions, process accountability, and system access.
- Resolve conflicts between business needs, system constraints, and security requirements through data-driven analysis and collaboration.
- Influence outcomes across organizational boundaries without direct authority.
Governance, Documentation & Sustainability
- Establish and enforce governance standards for Enterprise Role creation, ownership, change management, and exception handling.
- Produce and maintain high-quality documentation, including:
- Enterprise Role definitions and descriptions.
- Role ownership assignments.
- L4/L5 process-to-role mappings.
- Application and entitlement mappings.
- RACI and accountability models.
- Ensure Enterprise Role models support audit, compliance, and internal control requirements (e.g., SOX).
- Design role governance processes that scale with organizational growth, acquisitions, and system evolution.

Align your background with semiconductor operations
Lam Research's Business Analyst roles sit at the intersection of operations, supply chain, and equipment manufacturing. Tailor your resume to highlight process improvement, ERP systems, or demand planning experience within a hardware or manufacturing context before applying.
Verify your OPT or CPT eligibility early
If you're on an F-1 visa, confirm your OPT authorization period aligns with Lam Research's typical hiring timeline. STEM OPT extensions give you up to 36 months of work authorization, which covers most early-career analyst positions without requiring an immediate H-1B petition.
Target roles with cross-functional scope
Lam Research posts Business Analyst roles across supply chain, finance, and product operations. Roles with cross-functional scope tend to move faster through the sponsorship approval process because they're easier for employers to document as specialty occupations for H-1B purposes.
Understand what PERM documentation requires of you
If Lam Research initiates a Green Card process through PERM, DOL requires proof that no qualified U.S. worker was available. Keep records of your qualifications and any unique technical expertise in semiconductor analytics that supports your employer's sponsorship case.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Business Analyst roles
Sponsorship-eligible roles aren't always labeled clearly on general job boards. Use Migrate Mate to browse current Business Analyst openings at Lam Research filtered by visa type, so you're only spending time on positions the company is actively willing to sponsor.
Prepare for H-1B cap timing if changing status
H-1B cap-subject petitions are filed in April with an October 1 start date. If you're graduating in December or May, map your job search timeline backward so an offer and petition can be filed before the USCIS registration window closes in late March.

Does Lam Research sponsor H-1B visas for Business Analysts?
Yes, Lam Research sponsors H-1B visas for Business Analyst roles. The company operates in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, a sector where specialty occupation documentation is well established. Business Analyst positions tied to supply chain systems, financial modeling, or manufacturing operations typically meet USCIS specialty occupation standards when the role requires a degree in a directly related field.
How do I apply for Business Analyst jobs at Lam Research?
Apply directly through Lam Research's careers portal. Filter by the Business Analyst job family and review each posting for sponsorship language. Tailoring your application to highlight cross-functional analytics experience in hardware or manufacturing significantly improves your chances. You can also browse current sponsorship-eligible openings on Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa type to save you time.
Which visa types does Lam Research commonly use for Business Analyst roles?
Lam Research sponsors H-1B visas for most mid-level and senior Business Analyst hires. For recent graduates, F-1 OPT and STEM OPT extension coverage is common for early-career roles. TN visas apply if you're a Canadian or Mexican national working in a qualifying analytical or engineering function. For longer-term employment, Lam Research initiates EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card sponsorship through the PERM labor certification process.
What qualifications does Lam Research expect for Business Analyst roles?
Most Business Analyst roles at Lam Research require a bachelor's degree in business, engineering, computer science, or a related quantitative field. Experience with ERP platforms such as SAP or Oracle is frequently cited. Roles in supply chain or operations analytics often expect familiarity with SQL, data visualization tools, or demand planning systems specific to hardware or semiconductor manufacturing environments.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Business Analyst role at Lam Research?
Timeline depends on visa type. H-1B sponsorship runs on an annual cycle with a filing window each April and an October 1 start date. OPT authorization can begin within weeks of your program end date. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship typically takes one to three years from the employer's initial filing through DOL and then USCIS. Starting the process well before your current work authorization expires is critical.
