The impact you’ll make
You will drive data-informed procurement operations and inventory strategy to ensure critical semiconductor development, qualification, and customer demo activities are never constrained by silicon wafer availability, budget misalignment, or poor forecasting. This role directly influences cost control and operational continuity across Lam’s global sites.
What you’ll do

- Inventory Analysis: Monitor inventory health, forecast coverage in weeks and quarters, and proactively mitigate supply risks across Fremont, KTC, and other global sites.
- Budget & Spend Tracking: Partner with Finance to align quarterly forecasts, cross-charges, and spend visibility for wafer and film categories.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Interface with Process Engineering, Global Supply Chain, and external suppliers to align on requirements, timelines, and cost targets.
Who we’re looking for
- Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.
- A detail-oriented, self-directed analyst who can independently manage complex procurement scopes and bridge engineering, finance, and operations stakeholders in a fast-paced semiconductor environment.
- Demonstrated experience in operations, supply chain, procurement, or business analysis.
Preferred qualifications
- Semiconductor industry experience strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with silicon wafers, thin films, or semiconductor consumables.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel and experience with project/ticketing tools (e.g., JIRA).
- Experience working with international or multi-site operations.
- Experience or knowledge of global tariffs on silicon wafers.
Our commitment
We believe it is important for every person to feel valued, included, and empowered to achieve their full potential. By bringing unique individuals and viewpoints together, we achieve extraordinary results.

Align your resume to semiconductor manufacturing language
Lam Research Operations roles sit inside a highly specialized fab environment. Tailor your resume to reflect equipment-specific terminology, yield improvement, and process control rather than generic operations or supply chain language that won't signal fit to their hiring teams.
Target roles that match your visa's specialty occupation standard
H-1B eligibility requires your Operations role to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards. Focus on positions with engineering, technical program management, or equipment process titles rather than general logistics roles, which face higher scrutiny during petition review.
Understand how PERM shapes long-term sponsorship timelines
For Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3, Lam Research must complete a PERM labor certification through DOL. The process takes roughly 12 to 18 months before an I-140 petition is filed, so raise long-term sponsorship intentions early in the offer stage, not after signing.
Use Migrate Mate to find open Operations roles at Lam Research
Tracking which Lam Research Operations positions are actively hiring and open to visa sponsorship is time-consuming. Use Migrate Mate to filter verified sponsoring employers by role type and company, so you're applying to positions where sponsorship is already confirmed.
Prepare documentation that demonstrates hands-on technical depth
Lam Research Operations interviews often assess process improvement projects, equipment troubleshooting, and cross-functional collaboration in a fab or manufacturing environment. Prepare concrete examples from previous roles that show direct technical impact, not just oversight or coordination responsibilities.

Find Operations at Lam Research JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Lam Research sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Lam Research sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions, particularly roles tied to semiconductor equipment, process engineering, and technical program management. The role needs to qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, so positions with a clear degree requirement in a relevant field are the strongest candidates for petition approval.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Lam Research?
Applications go through Lam Research's careers portal. You can also use Migrate Mate to browse verified Operations openings at Lam Research that are open to visa sponsorship, which saves time filtering through roles that won't support your immigration status. Tailor your application to reflect semiconductor manufacturing or technical operations experience rather than general industry backgrounds.
Which visa types does Lam Research commonly use for Operations hires?
Lam Research sponsors H-1B visas for mid-to-senior Operations roles and supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students and recent graduates entering the function. For longer-term employees, EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways through PERM labor certification are available. TN visas are an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying Operations positions under USMCA.
What qualifications does Lam Research expect for Operations roles?
Most Operations positions at Lam Research require a bachelor's degree in engineering, supply chain, or a related technical field, with advanced degrees preferred for senior roles. Practical experience in semiconductor equipment manufacturing, fab operations, or process improvement is valued heavily. Familiarity with lean manufacturing methodologies and cross-functional collaboration in a hardware production environment strengthens your candidacy significantly.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Lam Research Operations offer?
For H-1B sponsorship, standard USCIS processing runs three to five months after the April 1 filing date, with an October 1 start date. Premium processing reduces that to 15 business days. If you're already on OPT, you can start before the H-1B takes effect. Green Card sponsorship through PERM and EB-2 or EB-3 takes considerably longer, often two or more years depending on your priority date.
