Document your manufacturing credentials thoroughly
Form Energy's Operations roles often involve battery cell production and process scale-up. Gather evidence of hands-on manufacturing experience, equipment qualifications, and any process improvement projects before you apply. USCIS scrutinizes specialty occupation claims, so specificity matters.
Target roles tied to production ramp milestones
Form Energy is actively scaling its Weirton, West Virginia facility. Operations postings tied to production ramp, yield improvement, or quality systems tend to signal urgent hiring need, which correlates with employers moving faster on sponsorship offers.
Browse open Operations roles on Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Form Energy's Operations openings by visa type so you can identify which roles align with your sponsorship category before investing time in a full application. Targeting the right opening from the start saves weeks.
Clarify OPT or CPT authorization early in interviews
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your OPT start date and STEM extension eligibility before your first offer conversation. Form Energy sponsors F-1 OPT, so aligning your work authorization timeline with their production schedule removes a common sticking point at the offer stage.
Understand how DOL prevailing wages apply to your role
For H-1B and PERM-based Green Card filings, DOL prevailing wage determinations are tied to the specific job title and work location. Operations titles like Process Engineer and Manufacturing Engineer carry different wage levels, so confirm how your role is classified before negotiating compensation.
Ask about Green Card sponsorship timelines during negotiation
Form Energy sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 categories for Operations hires. When you receive an offer, ask directly whether the role is eligible for PERM sponsorship and what the typical internal timeline looks like. Getting clarity upfront prevents surprises after your H-1B is filed.

Find Operations at Form Energy JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Form Energy sponsor H-1B visas for Operations roles?
Yes, Form Energy sponsors H-1B visas for Operations positions. The H-1B requires your role to qualify as a specialty occupation, which typically means a bachelor's degree or higher in a relevant field such as manufacturing engineering, industrial engineering, or materials science is required for the position. Form Energy's production-focused Operations roles generally meet that threshold given the technical complexity of iron-air battery manufacturing.
How do I apply for Operations jobs at Form Energy?
Applications go through Form Energy's careers page, where Operations roles are listed by function and facility. You can also find visa-filtered Operations openings at Form Energy on Migrate Mate, which lets you confirm sponsorship eligibility before applying. Tailor your resume to reflect process engineering, manufacturing scale-up, or supply chain experience relevant to energy storage hardware production.
Which visa types does Form Energy commonly use for Operations hires?
Form Energy sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, EB-2, and EB-3 visas for Operations roles. TN is available only to Canadian and Mexican citizens in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT and CPT apply to recent graduates still on their student status. EB-2 and EB-3 represent employer-sponsored Green Card pathways for longer-term hires in technical Operations functions.
What qualifications does Form Energy look for in Operations candidates needing sponsorship?
Form Energy's Operations roles typically require a degree in engineering or a related technical field, with direct experience in manufacturing environments, preferably in electronics, hardware, or energy systems. Hands-on experience with process development, lean manufacturing, or quality systems is consistently reflected in their postings. For USCIS H-1B purposes, your degree field should align closely with the specific job duties, not just general engineering.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for Operations roles at Form Energy?
For H-1B transfers or cap-exempt filings, USCIS standard processing runs three to five months, with premium processing available for a faster decision, typically within 15 business days. For new H-1B cap-subject filings, you'd enter the annual lottery with an April 1 start date at earliest. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 runs 18 months or longer depending on your country of birth and USCIS backlogs.
