Align your credentials to hardware-specific standards
Form Energy's Staff Engineer roles emphasize systems-level hardware and electrochemical expertise. Before applying, document your degree field and work history against specialty occupation criteria, since USCIS scrutinizes whether your education directly supports the specific engineering discipline.
Target roles with active LCA filings
Search DOL's FLAG system for Form Energy's Labor Condition Application filings to identify which Staff Engineer job titles they've actively recruited for. This tells you which specializations they hire internationally and what prevailing wage levels apply to those positions.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Staff Engineer openings
Sorting through Form Energy's engineering listings by sponsorship type is faster on Migrate Mate, where you can filter specifically for roles open to your visa category and see which Staff Engineer positions have active sponsorship history.
Prepare for a multi-stage technical interview process
Form Energy's Staff Engineer hiring typically involves architecture reviews and cross-functional system design assessments. Frame your experience around long-cycle hardware programs, grid-scale product development, or battery systems to match the scope of what this role owns.
Confirm H-1B cap timing with your prospective team
H-1B cap-subject petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start. If your offer comes after the registration window closes, negotiate a deferred start or explore whether Form Energy qualifies for cap-exempt filing pathways through any affiliated research entities.

Find Staff Engineer at Form Energy JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Form Energy sponsor H-1B visas for Staff Engineers?
Yes, Form Energy sponsors H-1B visas for Staff Engineer positions. Because these roles require specialized engineering knowledge in areas like electrochemical systems, grid-scale hardware, or power electronics, they typically satisfy USCIS specialty occupation requirements. Your employer will need a certified Labor Condition Application from DOL before filing the H-1B petition with USCIS.
How do I apply for Staff Engineer jobs at Form Energy?
Applications go through Form Energy's careers page, where Staff Engineer openings are listed by discipline. You can also find and filter sponsorship-eligible roles on Migrate Mate, which surfaces Form Energy positions alongside their visa sponsorship details. Tailor your resume to emphasize systems ownership, cross-functional leadership, and hardware program depth relevant to energy storage.
Which visa types does Form Energy use for Staff Engineer roles?
Form Energy sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and employment-based Green Card categories including EB-2 and EB-3 for engineering talent. Staff Engineers with advanced degrees may qualify for EB-2 sponsorship, while those with substantial experience in relevant hardware disciplines often fit the EB-3 skilled worker category.
What qualifications does Form Energy expect from Staff Engineer candidates?
Staff Engineer candidates at Form Energy are expected to demonstrate senior technical ownership across complex hardware or energy systems, not just execution. Relevant backgrounds include power electronics, mechanical or electrical engineering, electrochemistry, or grid integration. A bachelor's degree in a directly related engineering field is the baseline, and many roles expect graduate-level education or equivalent industry depth.
How do I time my visa filing if I receive a Staff Engineer offer from Form Energy?
Timing depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, your employer needs to file your H-1B petition during the April registration window for an October 1 start. For TN status, the process moves faster and doesn't require USCIS petition approval. If you're pursuing PERM-based sponsorship, expect a multi-year process given DOL audit timelines and priority date backlogs for some nationalities.
