Role Description
Form Energy is hiring a Manager, Supplier Industrialization Engineering to own the technical and quality strategy for our electromechanical and power conversion supply base — spanning PCBAs, custom wire harnesses, electrical panels, and integrated skid-level assemblies (such as fire suppression cabinets). Reporting to Global Supply Management, you will lead and grow a team of Supplier Industrialization Engineers, setting the standards, processes, and supplier partnerships that let Form Energy scale complex electromechanical builds with world-class quality. This is a player-coach role: you will set direction and develop your team while staying close enough to the technical detail to unblock the hardest supplier and quality problems.
Relocation assistance is available.
What you'll do:
- Own the Portfolio: Set the technical and quality roadmap across PCBAs, custom wire harnesses, electrical panels, and integrated power conversion assemblies (including skid-level builds like fire suppression cabinets), ensuring a consistent industrialization standard across commodities.
- Build and Lead the Team: Hire, coach, and manage a team of Supplier Industrialization Engineers; set priorities, remove blockers, and hold the team accountable to PPAP/APQP standards and program timelines.
- Drive Cross-Functional Resolution: Partner with Design, Reliability, Test, and Global Supply Management to resolve the highest-impact supplier and quality issues, escalating and driving CAPA to closure.
- Scale Quality Frameworks: Establish and continuously improve the PPAP, APQP, and SCAR/CAPA frameworks that govern how contract manufacturers industrialize electromechanical and power conversion assemblies.
- Manage Supplier Capacity & Performance: Own supplier capacity planning and performance reviews, aligning CM resources, OEE, and yield targets with Form Energy’s production ramp.
- Represent SIE in Roadmap Planning: Act as the voice of supplier industrialization in technology and sourcing roadmap discussions, traveling (20–30%) to audit supplier sites and validate process readiness.
What you'll bring:
- 10+ years of experience in new product development and manufacturing of electromechanical and electronic assemblies (PCBAs, wire harnesses, electrical panels, box builds, skid-level integrations).
- 2+ years of experience leading or managing engineering teams, with demonstrated ability to hire, coach, and develop talent.
- BS in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Deep expertise implementing PPAP/APQP and managing supplier quality systems across multiple commodity types, including electronics, harnesses, and electromechanical assemblies.
- Proven track record resolving high-impact technical and quality issues at contract manufacturer sites and driving CAPA to closure.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and organizational skills, with the ability to influence without formal authority at all levels of the organization.

Frame your hardware leadership experience precisely
Form Energy's Engineering Manager roles focus on battery systems and manufacturing processes, not software. Tailor your resume to highlight experience leading hardware or electrochemical product teams, since a generalist engineering background won't stand out against candidates with physical systems expertise.
Confirm your visa category before applying
Form Energy sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and Green Card pathways. If you're on OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility before your application reaches the offer stage, so you and the recruiter aren't scrambling to assess timeline gaps during negotiations.
Target roles aligned with active production programs
Form Energy is scaling its iron-air battery manufacturing, so Engineering Manager openings tied to production ramp or cell manufacturing tend to have stronger hiring urgency. Prioritizing these over early-stage R&D roles increases your odds of reaching an offer that includes sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open roles by sponsorship type
Not every Engineering Manager posting at Form Energy will explicitly state visa support. Search and filter by sponsorship type on Migrate Mate to identify which active openings are confirmed for international candidates before you spend time tailoring applications.
Prepare for PERM documentation early if targeting a Green Card
Form Energy sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, which require PERM labor certification through DOL. For Engineering Managers, this process can take well over a year. Get your foreign degree evaluation and employment history records organized before your first interview, not after an offer lands.
Address cross-functional scope directly in interviews
Engineering Manager roles at hardware companies like Form Energy require coordinating across process engineering, supply chain, and safety. Be ready to speak to specific examples of managing cross-functional dependencies, since sponsorship decisions often reflect how quickly a hire can operate independently in a complex org.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Form Energy sponsor H-1B visas for Engineering Managers?
Yes, Form Energy sponsors H-1B visas for Engineering Manager roles. Because the H-1B is subject to an annual cap and lottery, timing matters. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, a transfer is typically faster than a new cap-subject petition. Cap-exempt candidates and those on OPT with STEM extensions may have more scheduling flexibility.
Which visa types are commonly used for Engineering Manager roles at Form Energy?
Form Energy supports H-1B transfers and new filings, F-1 OPT and CPT for recent graduates, TN visas for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering occupations, and employment-based Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 or EB-3 classifications. The right pathway depends on your current status, nationality, and career stage going into the hiring process.
What qualifications and experience does Form Energy expect for Engineering Manager roles?
Form Energy's Engineering Manager positions typically require a bachelor's or advanced degree in mechanical, chemical, electrical, or materials engineering, combined with hands-on experience leading hardware or manufacturing teams. Given the company's focus on battery cell production and scale-up, experience with electrochemical systems, process engineering, or high-volume manufacturing operations is a meaningful differentiator.
How do I apply for Engineering Manager jobs at Form Energy?
Browse open Engineering Manager roles at Form Energy through Migrate Mate, which filters for positions confirmed to sponsor international candidates. Once you identify a relevant opening, apply directly through Form Energy's careers portal. Prepare to address your visa status early in the recruiter screen, since sponsorship logistics, particularly for H-1B or Green Card pathways, affect hiring timelines.
How do I plan my timeline if Form Energy offers Green Card sponsorship for an Engineering Manager role?
Green Card sponsorship for Engineering Managers at Form Energy typically follows the PERM labor certification route through DOL, which alone can take 12 to 18 months before USCIS filing even begins. Priority date backlogs under EB-2 or EB-3 can extend total timelines significantly depending on your country of birth. Start organizing employment records and foreign credential evaluations before the offer stage to avoid delays once the process is initiated.
