Verify Your NCLEX and State Licensure Early
New York State requires RN licensure before PAGNY can begin any sponsorship filing. Credential evaluation through CGFNS and NCLEX clearance can take months, so start this process well before submitting applications to avoid delays.
Target Departments With Consistent Openings
PAGNY staffs clinical roles across NYC Health and Hospitals facilities, including emergency, critical care, and primary care settings. Focusing your search on departments with persistent vacancies improves your chances of landing a position willing to initiate sponsorship.
Understand the EB-3 PERM Timeline for Nurses
Most nursing sponsorships at employers like PAGNY follow the EB-3 route, which requires DOL-approved PERM labor certification before the immigrant visa petition. The full process commonly spans several years, so aligning your current work authorization timeline with this is critical.
Clarify Sponsorship Commitment Before Accepting Offers
Ask HR directly whether the specific unit or cost center covering your role has approved sponsorship funding. In large affiliate groups, individual departments sometimes have separate budget authority, and confirming this upfront prevents misaligned expectations after an offer is extended.
Use Migrate Mate to Filter Nursing Roles by Sponsorship
Not every open nursing position at PAGNY will include visa sponsorship. Use Migrate Mate to surface and track which specific listings are flagged for sponsorship eligibility, so you're applying only where an immigration pathway is actively on the table.
Prepare Documentation for EB-2 National Interest Waiver if Applicable
Nurses with specialized qualifications or experience in underserved communities may qualify for an EB-2 NIW, bypassing PERM entirely. USCIS adjudicates NIW petitions independently of employer filing, giving you more control over your timeline if your credentials meet the standard.

Does PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
PAGNY's primary sponsorship pathway for nursing roles is employment-based immigrant visas, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, rather than the H-1B. Registered Nursing is classified as a specialty occupation in some contexts, but most large healthcare employers in New York use the PERM-based immigrant visa route as their standard sponsorship track for nursing candidates.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK?
Applications go through PAGNY's careers portal, where you can filter by clinical role and facility. Before applying, confirm that your New York RN license is active or in process, as licensure is a baseline requirement. Migrate Mate can help you identify which open PAGNY nursing listings are associated with visa sponsorship so you apply to the right postings from the start.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK?
PAGNY sponsors nursing candidates through EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories. EB-3 is the most common route for registered nurses and involves DOL PERM labor certification followed by an I-140 petition with USCIS. EB-2 applies to nurses with advanced degrees or exceptional qualifications, and in some cases a National Interest Waiver can be self-petitioned without employer-sponsored PERM.
What qualifications does PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK expect for sponsored Nursing positions?
PAGNY looks for candidates with an active New York State RN license, a nursing degree from an accredited program, and clinical experience relevant to the specific unit or specialty. International applicants typically also need CGFNS certification and an English proficiency assessment. Specialized experience in areas like critical care, emergency medicine, or maternal health strengthens candidacy for sponsorship-eligible roles.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Nursing role at PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK?
The EB-3 PERM pathway commonly takes two to four years from labor certification through visa issuance, depending on your country of birth and priority date backlog. PERM itself can take 12 to 18 months at the DOL alone. Starting the process immediately after your employment offer and maintaining valid work authorization throughout are essential to bridging the timeline without a gap in status.
