Verify Your ECFMG Certification Before Applying
PAGNY hires internationally trained physicians, but U.S. hospital credentialing requires ECFMG certification before any visa petition moves forward. Confirm your certification status is current and matches your legal name exactly as it appears on your passport.
Target Specialties With Persistent Staffing Shortages
PAGNY staffs NYC Health + Hospitals facilities where certain specialties, including psychiatry, internal medicine, and emergency medicine, face ongoing shortages. Roles in these areas tend to have stronger employer motivation to initiate and fund the full sponsorship process.
Understand the EB-2 and EB-3 Filing Distinction
PAGNY sponsors both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for Medical Doctors. EB-2 typically requires a U.S. residency or fellowship plus demonstrated advanced expertise, while EB-3 covers roles requiring a professional degree. Your postgraduate training and board status will determine which category fits your credentials.
Expect PERM Labor Certification in Your Timeline
Most Medical Doctor Green Card petitions through PAGNY will require DOL PERM labor certification before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition. DOL processing currently runs six months or longer, so factor that into your planning if your current visa status has a hard expiration date.
Align Your Application With Hospital Credentialing Cycles
PAGNY physician hiring is closely tied to hospital credentialing timelines, which can add two to four months between offer and start date. Submitting a complete application packet, including all training verifications and license documents, upfront reduces back-and-forth that delays the sponsorship initiation.
Browse Open Roles Before Reaching Out to Recruiters
Research which Medical Doctor specialties PAGNY is actively hiring before contacting their physician recruitment team. Use Migrate Mate to filter for PAGNY roles by specialty and visa type so you can reference specific open positions in your outreach and demonstrate targeted interest.

Find Medical Doctor at PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK sponsor H-1B visas for Medical Doctors?
PAGNY's primary sponsorship pathway for Medical Doctors is immigrant-based, using EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card petitions rather than the H-1B. Physicians already holding H-1B status through another employer may be able to transfer to PAGNY, but the organization's standard sponsorship route targets permanent residency from the outset.
Which visa types are commonly used for Medical Doctor roles at PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK?
PAGNY sponsors Medical Doctors under the EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visa categories, both of which lead to a Green Card. EB-2 suits physicians with advanced degrees or exceptional ability, while EB-3 covers professional-level roles. Most petitions require PERM labor certification through the Department of Labor before USCIS adjudicates the immigrant petition.
How do I apply for Medical Doctor jobs at PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK?
Browse current Medical Doctor openings on Migrate Mate, where PAGNY roles are listed and filterable by specialty and visa sponsorship type. When applying, include your full CV, ECFMG certification documentation, medical license details, and a summary of postgraduate training. PAGNY's physician recruitment team reviews applications against both clinical needs and credentialing requirements simultaneously.
What qualifications does PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK expect from Medical Doctor applicants?
PAGNY generally expects completion of a U.S. residency program, active or eligible New York State medical licensure, and ECFMG certification for internationally trained graduates. Board certification or eligibility in the relevant specialty is standard. Some roles within NYC Health + Hospitals also require familiarity with safety-net patient populations and high-volume clinical environments.
How do I estimate the timeline for a Green Card through PHYSICIAN AFFILIATE GROUP OF NEW YORK?
The process typically starts with PERM labor certification at the DOL, which currently takes six months or more, followed by the USCIS I-140 petition adjudication. For applicants born in countries with oversubscribed visa backlogs, the wait for an available immigrant visa number can extend the total timeline significantly beyond the petition approval date.
