Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Nursing Jobs at Prometric Jobs
Verify your nursing credentials before applying
U.S. employers require state licensure or an active NCLEX pass, not just a foreign nursing qualification. Confirm your credentials are recognized by the relevant state board before targeting Prometric, since licensure gaps delay any visa petition.
Target Prometric's exam operations nursing roles
Prometric hires nurses primarily to support testing center operations, including exam proctoring and health-related assessment programs. Roles tied to clinical competency testing are more likely to qualify as specialty occupations under H-1B than generalist healthcare support positions.
Browse open nursing roles using Migrate Mate
Prometric's nursing openings are spread across multiple locations and change frequently. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Prometric nursing roles that have a visa sponsorship history, so you're not applying blind to positions that won't support your status.
Clarify TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Registered nurses from Canada or Mexico may qualify for TN status, which avoids the H-1B lottery entirely. Confirm with the hiring team early that Prometric is open to TN classification, since it requires specific job duty alignment with the DOL's TN nursing category.
Ask about OPT and CPT support during the offer stage
If you're on F-1 status, raise OPT or CPT authorization before signing anything. Some nursing-adjacent roles at testing-focused employers qualify for STEM OPT extension if the position involves health informatics or clinical data, which gives you an additional 24 months of work authorization.
Confirm H-1B filing timelines with the recruiter
USCIS opens H-1B registration in March for an October 1 start date. If you receive a Prometric offer outside that window, clarify whether they'll use premium processing or structure a deferred start date to align with the cap filing cycle.

Does Prometric sponsor H-1B visas for Nursings?
Yes, Prometric has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing roles. Sponsorship is not guaranteed for every opening, so confirm with the recruiter during early conversations. H-1B nursing petitions require the position to qualify as a specialty occupation, meaning a bachelor's degree in nursing or a related field must be a standard requirement for the role.
How do I apply for Nursing jobs at Prometric?
Applications go through Prometric's careers portal, where nursing roles are listed by location and department. Search for roles tied to exam administration, clinical assessment, or health program support, as those are the areas where nursing credentials are most directly relevant. Migrate Mate also surfaces Prometric nursing openings filtered by visa sponsorship history, so you can prioritize roles where sponsorship is more likely.
Which visa types are commonly used for Nursing roles at Prometric?
Prometric has sponsored H-1B visas for nursing professionals and has also worked with candidates on F-1 OPT and F-1 CPT. Canadian and Mexican registered nurses may also be eligible for TN status, which does not require lottery selection. The right visa type depends on your citizenship, current status, and the specific duties of the role you're offered.
What qualifications and experience does Prometric expect for nursing roles?
Most nursing positions at Prometric require an active RN license and a bachelor's degree in nursing. Roles supporting clinical exam programs or competency assessments may prefer candidates with experience in testing environments, health education, or psychometric assessment. International applicants should ensure their foreign credentials are evaluated and that their nursing license is recognized in the state where the role is based.
How do I plan my visa timeline when pursuing a nursing role at Prometric?
If you're pursuing H-1B sponsorship, USCIS registration opens each March for an October 1 cap year start. Build your job search timeline to have an offer in hand before late February. For TN or OPT pathways, timelines are shorter, but you'll still want to initiate documentation conversations with Prometric's HR team at least 30 to 60 days before your intended start date.
