INTRODUCTION
Quadric has created an innovative software driven AI inference processor. Licensed as IP, the architecture is targeted to run neural network (NN) inference workloads in a wide variety of edge and endpoint devices, ranging from battery operated smart-sensor systems to high-performance automotive or autonomous vehicle systems. Unlike other neural engines in the industry today that can only accelerate a portion of a machine learning graph, the Quadric GPNPU executes both NN graph code and conventional C++ DSP and control code.
ROLE
The AI Kernel Engineer (New Grad) at Quadric plays a key role in enabling a large number of AI kernels and operators to run efficiently on the Quadric platform. In this role, you will
1. develop a highly efficient Quadric kernel library for a variety of AI/LLM models;
2. analyze performance and optimize kernels for different hardware configurations. This technical role demands a strong foundational knowledge of hardware architecture, software optimization, and the hardware-software interface. This role is based in our Burlingame, California office. We believe strong technical collaboration, rapid iteration, and shared problem-solving are best supported by working together in person. As such, this role follows a hybrid schedule with at least two in-office days per week expected.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI/LLM kernels and operators on the Quadric platform for efficient inference.
- Optimize kernel performance for different hardware configurations and workloads.
- Profile and analyze kernel performance in terms of compute, data, and parallelism; identify micro-architecture and software bottlenecks and provide optimization solutions.
- Optimize kernel C/C++ code to maximize hardware utilization.
- Collaborate across related areas of the AI inference stack to support team and business priorities.
- Make improvements to the Quadric toolchain, compiler, and runtime.
- Provide technical support and documentation to customers and the developer community.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong proficiency in C/C++ and Python.
- Solid foundational understanding of computer architecture and hardware-software interaction.
- Demonstrated capability in problem solving, debugging, and clear technical communication.
- Experience with (or academic exposure to) at least one of the following compute development frameworks: CUDA, DSP, NEON, or Triton-lang.
- Familiarity with assembly language or compiler internals is a plus.
- Experience with model and kernel inference performance profiling is highly desirable.
- Must be willing to relocate to the California Bay Area and work from the Burlingame office on a hybrid basis.
BENEFITS
At Quadric, we value Integrity, Humility, and Happiness. What we expect from one another is simple and clear: Initiative, Collaboration, and Completion. We are a collaborative team focused on building something extraordinary in the edge computing space.
- Competitive salary and meaningful equity
- Medical, dental, and vision plan options starting on day one
- 401(k) retirement plan
- Flexible paid time off (unlimited, non-accrual) to support work-life balance
- When working in-office, enjoy company-provided lunches and a stocked kitchen
- Convenient office location within walking distance of the Caltrain station
- Support for commuting, including monthly parking or Caltrain passes
- Downtown Burlingame office location, close to shops, cafes, and local amenities

The base salary range for this position is $120,000 - $160,000. This range reflects the full span of levels and geographies at which Quadric hires for this role. The actual base salary offered will depend on a number of factors, including the specific level of the role, years and depth of relevant experience, technical skills and competencies, the criticality of the role to the business, internal equity, and work location. In addition to base salary, this role is eligible for equity and a discretionary annual performance bonus as applicable to the role and level. Quadric also offers the generous benefits package outlined above and other programs designed to support your health and wellbeing.

Target engineering and hardware roles
Quadric's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical disciplines tied to its core chip and AI hardware work. Focus your applications on roles in hardware engineering, computer architecture, or embedded systems to align with where sponsorship is most likely to be supported.
Understand which visa types Quadric supports
Quadric has sponsored Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3, and supports F-1 OPT and TN candidates. Knowing this before you apply helps you frame your work authorization status accurately and ask the right questions during recruiter conversations.
Lead with your technical specialization
In a specialized hardware company like Quadric, immigration sponsorship decisions are closely tied to hard-to-fill technical skills. Emphasize expertise in areas like processor design, ML accelerators, or compiler development to strengthen the business case for your sponsorship.
Use Migrate Mate to find verified sponsoring roles
Not every job listing makes visa sponsorship clear upfront. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you identify Quadric openings where international candidates have a confirmed path to work authorization.
Prepare for a technical-heavy interview process
Quadric operates in a competitive corner of the Electronics and Hardware industry. Expect multiple rounds focused on low-level hardware knowledge, system design, or AI inference workloads. A strong technical showing accelerates internal advocacy for sponsorship decisions.
Ask about Green Card timelines early
Quadric has sponsored permanent residence through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. If long-term U.S. residency is your goal, raise the topic during the offer negotiation stage so both parties can align on a realistic sponsorship and PERM filing timeline.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Quadric sponsor H-1B visas?
Based on available sponsorship data, Quadric has not recently filed H-1B visa petitions. The company's documented sponsorship activity covers Green Card pathways, specifically EB-2 and EB-3, along with support for F-1 OPT and TN visa status holders. If H-1B visa sponsorship is a requirement for you, confirm directly with Quadric's recruiting or HR team during the interview process.
What visa types does Quadric sponsor?
Quadric sponsors immigration across several pathways, including EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories, F-1 OPT work authorization, and TN status for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals. The company's Electronics and Hardware focus means sponsorship is most commonly tied to specialized engineering and technical roles where specific expertise is difficult to source domestically.
Which roles at Quadric are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Quadric tends to follow its core technical headcount needs in areas like chip design, hardware architecture, AI inference, and compiler engineering. Roles requiring deep domain expertise in programmable processors or edge AI systems represent the strongest case for sponsorship, as these skill sets are highly specialized and support a clear business necessity argument.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Quadric?
Migrate Mate is the most reliable way to browse Quadric job openings that are tied to confirmed sponsorship activity. Rather than sorting through general job listings where sponsorship details are often unclear, Migrate Mate filters by verified sponsor history so you can focus your applications on companies like Quadric that have an active track record of supporting international hires.
How do I approach the application process at Quadric as an international candidate?
Be upfront about your visa status in early recruiter conversations and frame your work authorization in relation to what Quadric already supports, OPT, TN, or Green Card pathways. Given the company's technical focus, a strong emphasis on specialized hardware or AI skills will carry significant weight. Once you reach the offer stage, ask specifically about the PERM or Green Card sponsorship timeline to set realistic expectations.
