Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Embedded Jobs at Qualcomm Jobs
Align your resume to Qualcomm's chipset ecosystem
Qualcomm embedded roles center on Snapdragon platforms, RTOS development, and hardware-software integration. Tailor your resume to reflect hands-on experience with ARM architectures, bare-metal programming, or device drivers rather than general software engineering.
Search verified sponsoring roles on Migrate Mate
Filter for embedded positions at Qualcomm using Migrate Mate, which surfaces roles tied to confirmed sponsorship history. This saves time you'd otherwise spend screening job listings that don't lead to visa support.
Request LCA details before accepting an offer
Once Qualcomm extends an offer, ask their HR team when the Labor Condition Application will be filed with DOL. The LCA must be certified before USCIS can adjudicate your H-1B petition, so confirming the timeline early prevents gaps in your work authorization.
Prepare degree equivalency documentation proactively
Many embedded engineering roles at Qualcomm require a bachelor's or master's in electrical engineering or computer science. If your degree is from outside the U.S., get a credential evaluation from a NACES-member organization before the offer stage to avoid delays.
Clarify TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Embedded engineers at Qualcomm may qualify for TN status under the Engineer category if you hold a Canadian or Mexican passport. TN has no annual cap and no lottery, so if eligible, you can start significantly faster than the H-1B route.

Find Embedded at Qualcomm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Qualcomm sponsor H-1B visas for Embeddeds?
Yes, Qualcomm sponsors H-1B visas for embedded engineering roles. Qualcomm is a consistent H-1B filer and supports the full sponsorship process, including the Labor Condition Application filed with DOL and the H-1B petition submitted to USCIS. Embedded roles typically qualify as specialty occupations given the degree requirements in electrical engineering or computer science.
Which visa types does Qualcomm use for Embedded roles?
Qualcomm sponsors several visa types for embedded positions, including H-1B, H-1B1 for Chilean and Singaporean nationals, TN for Canadian and Mexican citizens, F-1 OPT and CPT for students, J-1 for exchange visitors, and immigrant visa pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for long-term permanent residence. The right category depends on your citizenship, education, and career stage.
What qualifications does Qualcomm expect for Embedded roles?
Qualcomm embedded positions typically require a bachelor's or master's degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, or computer science. Practical experience with RTOS environments, ARM-based architectures, device driver development, or low-level debugging tools is commonly expected. Roles in media and entertainment products may also involve familiarity with audio or video codec integration at the firmware level.
How do I apply for Embedded jobs at Qualcomm?
Search for embedded engineering roles on Qualcomm's careers portal or browse verified sponsoring positions on Migrate Mate, which filters for roles with confirmed visa sponsorship history. When applying, match your resume to the specific chipset or platform mentioned in the job description. Qualcomm's recruiting process typically includes technical phone screens followed by a multi-round onsite or virtual interview covering systems design and low-level coding.
How do I plan my timeline if I need Qualcomm to sponsor my H-1B?
If you need an H-1B and aren't already in a cap-exempt category, the annual lottery registration opens in March for an October 1 start date. If you're on F-1 OPT with STEM extension, you may be able to start before October and have Qualcomm file a cap-subject petition on your behalf. Build at least six to eight months of lead time between your offer and your intended start date to account for USCIS processing.
