Frame your credentials around program scale
Qualcomm's Project Director roles require demonstrated ownership of large, multi-team programs. Before applying, prepare documentation of project scope, team size, and outcomes that map to semiconductor or media platform partnerships, not just generic PM experience.
Target Qualcomm's media platform partnerships directly
Qualcomm's media and entertainment work often runs through partnerships with streaming platforms and device manufacturers. Roles tied to these verticals move faster when your background includes content delivery, codec integration, or OEM program management.
Clarify your visa type early in recruiter conversations
Qualcomm sponsors multiple visa categories, so recruiters need to know upfront whether you're on F-1 OPT, an expiring TN, or require a fresh H-1B petition. This shapes how the offer timeline gets structured and whether premium processing is factored in.
Understand PERM timing before accepting a senior offer
If Green Card sponsorship matters to you, ask whether the Project Director role is slated for PERM. DOL PERM audits can add six to twelve months to the process, so knowing this before signing affects your long-range planning significantly.
Search Qualcomm Project Director openings through Migrate Mate
Filtering for sponsorship-confirmed Project Director roles saves time. Migrate Mate surfaces Qualcomm listings verified for visa sponsorship, so you're not applying to positions where international candidates are quietly screened out at the offer stage.
Align your H-1B specialty occupation narrative carefully
USCIS scrutinizes Project Director petitions when the role appears managerial rather than specialty occupation. Work with your employer's immigration counsel to document how your role requires a specific technical degree, not just leadership experience.

Find Project Director at Qualcomm JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Qualcomm sponsor H-1B visas for Project Directors?
Yes. Qualcomm sponsors H-1B visas for Project Director roles, and this is one of the more common pathways for international candidates at this level. If you're already in H-1B status with another employer, Qualcomm can file an H-1B transfer, allowing you to start on the receipt notice rather than waiting for approval.
Which visa types does Qualcomm commonly use for Project Director roles?
Qualcomm sponsors H-1B, H-1B1, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and J-1 visas, as well as employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3. For Project Director candidates, H-1B and EB-2 are the most relevant. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA professional categories.
How do I apply for Project Director jobs at Qualcomm?
You can browse Qualcomm's open Project Director positions through Migrate Mate, which filters for roles where visa sponsorship is confirmed. Apply directly through Qualcomm's careers portal with a resume that highlights program ownership, cross-functional leadership, and any media or entertainment platform experience, since those verticals are active within Qualcomm's business development and partner programs.
What qualifications does Qualcomm expect for a Project Director role?
Qualcomm typically expects a bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, or a related technical field, often with a preference for advanced degrees at the director level. Beyond credentials, they prioritize candidates with a track record of managing complex multi-stakeholder programs, ideally with exposure to semiconductor ecosystems, OEM partnerships, or media platform integrations relevant to Qualcomm's product lines.
How do I manage timing if my current work authorization is expiring?
If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm how many months remain before engaging Qualcomm's recruiting team. OPT with STEM extension gives you up to three years total, but your employer must be E-Verify enrolled. For H-1B holders, Qualcomm can file a cap-exempt transfer. USCIS premium processing, which currently runs 15 business days, is worth requesting if your authorization window is tight.
