Get your credentials evaluated before applying
International nursing degrees must be evaluated by a CGFNS-approved organization before USCIS will accept them. Complete this evaluation early, as delays here can push back your entire application timeline by months.
Target Self Regional's high-turnover units directly
Self Regional Healthcare consistently posts Registered Nurse openings in med-surg, ICU, and emergency departments. Applying to units with chronic staffing needs puts you in front of hiring managers who are already motivated to sponsor.
Confirm NCLEX-RN passage before your interview
South Carolina requires an active RN license before you can work. Sitting for the NCLEX-RN and obtaining licensure by endorsement from another state before your interview removes a common obstacle that causes employers to stall sponsorship conversations.
Clarify sponsorship scope during the offer stage
Ask HR explicitly whether Self Regional covers USCIS filing fees and whether they use in-house counsel or an outside immigration firm. Knowing this before you sign tells you what out-of-pocket costs you may carry and who manages your case timeline.

Understand how TN status works for Canadian and Mexican nurses
If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, the TN visa lets you work as a Registered Nurse without going through the H-1B lottery. You'll still need CGFNS certification and a qualifying job offer, but the process is faster and cap-exempt.

Find Registered Nurse at Self Regional Healthcare JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Self Regional Healthcare sponsor H-1B visas for Registered Nurses?
Yes, Self Regional Healthcare has sponsored H-1B visas for Registered Nurses. Because H-1B cap-subject petitions are subject to an annual lottery, your employer must file during the USCIS registration window each March. Nurses already in H-1B status with another employer can transfer to Self Regional outside the cap through an H-1B transfer, which is not lottery-dependent.
How do I apply for Registered Nurse jobs at Self Regional Healthcare?
Applications go through Self Regional Healthcare's careers portal on their official website. Search by job category or unit type to find active RN postings. You can also browse Migrate Mate for a filtered list of Registered Nurse openings at Self Regional Healthcare that are confirmed to support visa sponsorship, which saves time compared to reviewing every general listing manually.
Which visa types does Self Regional Healthcare use for Registered Nurses?
Self Regional Healthcare supports multiple visa pathways for Registered Nurses, including H-1B, TN, J-1, F-1 OPT, and F-1 CPT. The right option depends on your citizenship, current immigration status, and where you are in your career. Canadian and Mexican nurses often use TN status for speed, while most other international nurses pursue H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Self Regional Healthcare expect from Registered Nurse candidates?
You'll need an active South Carolina RN license or eligibility by endorsement, a passing NCLEX-RN score, and a nursing degree that meets CGFNS credential evaluation standards. For specialty units like ICU or emergency, relevant clinical experience and certifications such as BLS and ACLS are standard expectations. Candidates already working in U.S. clinical settings generally move through the hiring process faster.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Registered Nurse at Self Regional Healthcare?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. An H-1B transfer for a nurse already in status can be completed in a few weeks. A new H-1B requires filing after the March lottery, with an October 1 start date at the earliest. TN status for eligible candidates can be obtained at a port of entry the same day. Budget additional time if your nursing credentials require foreign evaluation through CGFNS.
