Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
USCIS evaluates whether a Program Director role qualifies as a specialty occupation, so your resume should clearly link your degree in hospitality, business, or a related field to the specific operational duties listed in Sodexo's job postings.
Target Sodexo's healthcare and education segments first
Sodexo fills Program Director openings most consistently in its healthcare and higher education divisions, where long-term contracts create stable headcount needs. Search by industry segment in your applications rather than applying broadly across all divisions.
Confirm sponsorship intent before your final interview
Sodexo's hiring managers for senior operations roles may not volunteer visa details unprompted. Ask your recruiter directly which visa type they intend to file for your role before you reach the offer stage, so timelines align with your current status.
Use Migrate Mate to surface verified Program Director openings
Many Sodexo Program Director postings don't explicitly flag visa sponsorship in the job listing. Migrate Mate filters verified sponsoring roles so you spend time only on positions where Sodexo has confirmed it will file on your behalf.
Understand how TN status fits this role if you qualify
Canadian and Mexican nationals in management consulting or related classifications may qualify for TN status, which Sodexo has used for senior operations roles. Confirm with your employer that the role description maps to an eligible TN category before relying on this pathway.
Build your timeline around the LCA filing window
Before Sodexo can file your H-1B or TN petition, the DOL-certified Labor Condition Application must be complete. Factor at least four to six weeks for LCA processing into your start date negotiations so the petition reaches USCIS before your current status lapses.

Find Program Director at Sodexo JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor H-1B visas for Program Directors?
Sodexo does sponsor work visas for Program Director roles, though the specific visa type depends on your nationality and the position's classification. H-1B sponsorship is available for qualifying roles, but Sodexo also uses TN, J-1, and F-1 OPT pathways depending on the candidate's situation. Confirm the intended visa type directly with your recruiter during the offer stage.
Which visa types does Sodexo commonly use for Program Director roles?
For Program Director positions, Sodexo has sponsored candidates on H-2B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas, depending on the candidate's background and the role's structure. TN is common for Canadian and Mexican nationals in operational management roles. F-1 OPT and CPT are used for candidates transitioning from graduate programs in hospitality or business administration.
What qualifications does Sodexo expect for Program Director roles?
Sodexo generally looks for a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business, food service, or a closely related field, combined with direct experience managing food or facilities operations in a contract services environment. Experience overseeing multi-site or large-volume accounts, P&L responsibility, and client relationship management tends to differentiate strong candidates for this level of role.
How do I apply for Program Director jobs at Sodexo?
You can apply through Sodexo's careers portal or find verified visa-sponsoring Program Director openings through Migrate Mate, which filters roles where Sodexo has a track record of sponsoring international candidates. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight contract management experience and include your degree field prominently, since USCIS specialty occupation requirements make your academic background material to the sponsorship process.
How do I plan my timeline if Sodexo is sponsoring my visa?
Timeline depends on your current status. If you're on F-1 OPT, confirm your OPT end date and cap-gap eligibility with your DSO early. For H-1B cases, the annual lottery opens in March and employment cannot begin before October 1, so offers made in the spring carry a six-month gap. TN petitions can be filed with faster turnaround but still require a certified LCA from DOL beforehand.
