Verify your nursing credentials transfer correctly
NCLEX licensure and state board approval are prerequisites before any employer can file on your behalf. Confirm your overseas nursing degree meets your target state's equivalency requirements before applying, since credential review timelines can delay your start date by months.
Target Sodexo's healthcare services contracts specifically
Sodexo embeds Clinical Nurses inside hospital and long-term care facility contracts rather than corporate offices. Search for postings tied to specific client site locations, as these roles drive the bulk of nursing hires and are most likely to carry active sponsorship budgets.
Clarify which visa category fits your situation early
Sodexo sponsors across multiple nonimmigrant categories including TN for Canadian and Mexican nurses and J-1 for exchange visitors. Knowing which pathway applies to your nationality and status before the interview prevents misaligned expectations and avoids delays once an offer is on the table.
Ask about H-2B timing relative to your start date
H-2B visas are subject to a seasonal cap administered by USCIS, so petition timing matters. If an H-2B is the offered pathway, confirm that your prospective start date aligns with cap availability and the employer's petitioning window before accepting any offer.

Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor H-1B visas for Clinical Nurses?
Sodexo's sponsorship activity for Clinical Nurse roles has centered on other nonimmigrant categories rather than H-1B visa. Nursing roles generally fall outside the specialty occupation framework USCIS uses to evaluate H-1B eligibility because the degree requirement is not consistently field-specific in the way H-1B requires. If H-1B sponsorship is a priority, clarify this directly with the recruiter during the hiring process.
How do I apply for Clinical Nurse jobs at Sodexo?
Applications go through Sodexo's careers portal, where postings are listed by service line and client site. Migrate Mate also aggregates Sodexo's open Clinical Nurse roles in one place, which is useful if you want to filter specifically by visa sponsorship availability. Tailor your application to the specific facility type listed, since Sodexo serves both acute care hospitals and long-term care settings with different role expectations.
Which visa types does Sodexo commonly use for Clinical Nurse roles?
Sodexo has sponsored Clinical Nurses across several nonimmigrant categories including H-2B visa, TN visa, J-1 visa, and F-1 OPT and CPT. TN visa is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals who hold a nursing degree and meet the USMCA occupational criteria. J-1 visa applies to exchange visitor nurses in approved programs. F-1 OPT and CPT are options for internationally enrolled nursing students during or after their studies.
What qualifications does Sodexo expect for Clinical Nurse candidates?
Sodexo's Clinical Nurse roles typically require active RN licensure in the relevant U.S. state, which means passing the NCLEX-RN and completing any state-specific credential verification. Prior experience in acute care, long-term care, or healthcare facility environments strengthens your candidacy, since Sodexo operates embedded nursing teams within client facilities rather than standalone clinics. BLS certification is a standard minimum requirement across most postings.
How long does the sponsorship and hiring process typically take at Sodexo?
The timeline depends heavily on which visa category applies to your situation. TN sponsorship for Canadian nationals can move quickly since TN status can be obtained at a port of entry. J-1 and H-2B pathways involve additional agency or USCIS processing steps that add several weeks to months. Factor in state nursing board credential review time on top of the immigration timeline, as that step often runs in parallel and can become the longer variable.
