Align your background to contract operations
Sodexo's Business Operations roles often sit inside large-scale food service or facilities contracts. Frame your resume around multi-site coordination, vendor management, or cost control rather than generic business administration to match what hiring managers are actually reading.
Confirm your visa type before applying
Sodexo has sponsored across several nonimmigrant categories for this function. Know which visa you hold or need before your first interview so you can answer sponsorship questions clearly and avoid delays once an offer is on the table.
Target Sodexo's institutional and healthcare segments
Business Operations openings at Sodexo cluster around institutional clients like hospitals, universities, and corporate campuses. Filtering your job search to these segments surfaces the roles most likely to carry sponsorship support through the HR infrastructure already in place.
Use Migrate Mate to surface open roles
Business Operations positions at Sodexo rotate frequently across segments and geographies. Use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for Sodexo openings that align with your visa type so you're applying to roles where sponsorship is already a known possibility.
Get your credentials ready before offer stage
If you're on F-1 OPT, gather your EAD card, I-20, and any STEM extension documentation before an offer conversation starts. Sodexo's HR teams process sponsorship centrally, and having your documents organized speeds the internal approval step significantly.
Understand the TN category's operational role requirements
TN status for Business Operations roles requires your job duties and degree field to map to an eligible USMCA profession. USCIS and CBP scrutinize generic business titles, so work with your employer contact to ensure the offer letter describes your duties with enough specificity to meet the standard.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor H-1B visas for Business Operations?
Sodexo's primary sponsorship activity for Business Operations roles has leaned toward visa categories other than H-1B visa, including F-1 OPT, TN visa, and J-1 visa. H-1B visa sponsorship is possible but depends on the specific role, location, and business unit. Because H-1B is subject to the annual cap and lottery, Sodexo is more likely to pursue it for candidates already holding H-1B status through a prior employer.
How do I apply for Business Operations jobs at Sodexo?
Search for Business Operations roles directly on Sodexo's careers portal, filtering by function and region. Tailor your application to highlight operational experience in food service, facilities, or institutional environments. Migrate Mate also aggregates Sodexo's open Business Operations positions so you can cross-reference which roles are active and filter by visa type compatibility before applying.
Which visa types does Sodexo commonly use for Business Operations roles?
Sodexo has sponsored Business Operations candidates across F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and H-2B visa categories. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering operational support roles. TN works well for Canadian and Mexican nationals whose degree and duties align with an eligible USMCA profession. J-1 is typically used for structured trainee or intern placements within operational teams.
What qualifications does Sodexo expect for Business Operations roles?
Sodexo generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or a related field. Relevant experience in food service operations, contract management, or process improvement strengthens your candidacy significantly. For specialty occupation visa categories, your degree field must align directly with the duties of the role, so generalist business degrees carry more risk than specialized ones.
How long does the sponsorship process take for a Business Operations role at Sodexo?
Timeline depends on visa category. F-1 OPT authorization through USCIS takes up to 90 days from application, so apply for the EAD well before your program end date. TN status can be obtained at a port of entry in a single day for Canadian citizens. J-1 sponsorship requires a designated sponsor organization and DS-2019 issuance, which typically takes two to four weeks after the employer confirms placement.
