Frame your credentials around contract operations
Sodexo's Service Operations Manager roles sit at the intersection of food service delivery and client contract management. Tailor your resume to show measurable outcomes in multi-site or institutional food service settings, not just general management experience.
Target postings tied to long-term client contracts
Sodexo wins multi-year contracts with hospitals, universities, and corporate campuses. Roles supporting those accounts are more likely to come with stable sponsorship support, since turnover disrupts client relationships the company is contractually obligated to maintain.
Understand which visa category fits your situation
Sodexo sponsors several visa types for this function, including F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1. If you're mid-OPT, confirm your STEM extension eligibility early. TN applicants in management roles must document that the position requires a qualifying degree, not just experience.
Ask about internal transfer timing before accepting
Sodexo operates across hundreds of service locations. If you're offered a role on CPT or OPT, clarify whether the position is tied to a specific site and whether relocation could affect your visa filing timeline or the employer's E-Verify obligations under DOL requirements.
Use Migrate Mate to identify open Service Operations Manager roles at Sodexo
Sodexo posts roles across regions at different times depending on contract cycles. Migrate Mate filters open positions by visa sponsorship type so you can find active Service Operations Manager listings at Sodexo without manually sorting through postings that don't fit your status.
Prepare your LCA documentation before the offer stage
Once Sodexo extends an offer, your employer must file a Labor Condition Application with DOL before any H-1B or H-2B petition goes to USCIS. Gather your degree certificates, employment verification letters, and job description alignment notes in advance so nothing delays the filing window.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor H-1B visas for Service Operations Managers?
Sodexo's primary sponsorship for Service Operations Manager roles tends to cover categories like F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, and J-1 visa rather than H-1B visa. The H-1B requires an annual lottery registration each March, and approval depends on USCIS selection before any petition can be filed. If H-1B sponsorship is your goal, confirm the company's willingness to register you during the next cap season before accepting an offer.
How do I apply for Service Operations Manager jobs at Sodexo?
Applications go through Sodexo's careers portal, where you can search by role title and location. Because Sodexo operates under client contracts, roles open and close based on contract timelines rather than a fixed hiring calendar. Migrate Mate surfaces active Service Operations Manager postings at Sodexo filtered by visa sponsorship type, which saves time if you need to confirm sponsorship before applying.
Which visa types does Sodexo commonly use for Service Operations Manager roles?
Based on Sodexo's filing history, the most common categories for this function include F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, J-1, and H-2B visa. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals whose role qualifies under USMCA occupational categories. J-1 applies in exchange visitor contexts. Each category carries different authorization periods and renewal rules, so the right fit depends on your citizenship and current status.
What qualifications does Sodexo expect for a Service Operations Manager?
Sodexo typically looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in hospitality management, business administration, or a related field, combined with direct experience managing food service or facilities operations. Experience in contract-managed environments such as healthcare, education, or corporate dining carries weight. For visa purposes, your degree field must align with the role's defined specialty occupation requirements to support TN or future H-1B filing.
How long does the sponsorship process take once Sodexo extends an offer?
Timeline depends on visa category. For TN, Canadian citizens can often present documentation at the border and gain entry the same day. For OPT extensions or new OPT authorization, USCIS processing runs 90 to 120 days, so apply early. H-2B and H-1B petitions follow a longer filing cycle tied to DOL Labor Condition Application certification before USCIS adjudication begins. Build at least three to four months of lead time into any transition plan.
