Credential your RD before applying
Sodexo requires Registered Dietitian credentials for most clinical and foodservice nutrition roles. Complete your CDR registration and confirm your state licensure is active before submitting applications, since offers are contingent on both.
Target Sodexo's healthcare and campus segments
Dietitian openings at Sodexo concentrate in hospital foodservice and university dining accounts. Filtering your search to those segments increases the odds of landing a hiring manager who already understands visa sponsorship for this role.
Use Migrate Mate to surface sponsorship-verified openings
Not every Sodexo Dietitian posting signals visa sponsorship directly. Use Migrate Mate to browse roles where Sodexo has an active sponsorship track record for this function, so you spend time on applications that can actually go somewhere.
Clarify TN eligibility early if Canadian or Mexican
Dietitian is a TN-qualifying occupation under USMCA. If you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship, confirm with Sodexo's recruiter that your offer letter specifies the role and degree requirement clearly, since TN approval at the border depends on that language.
Align your OPT or CPT start date with Sodexo's hiring cycle
Sodexo fills Dietitian roles on a rolling basis tied to client contract renewals. If you're on F-1 OPT, verify your authorization start date can accommodate a 60-day onboarding window, and flag your STEM extension eligibility to the recruiter upfront.
Ask about H-1B cap-exempt site placements
Sodexo places Dietitians at nonprofit hospital and university sites that may qualify as H-1B cap-exempt employers. If your assignment is at a qualifying institution, petition timing is not tied to the April lottery, which significantly changes your planning window.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Sodexo sponsor H-1B visas for Dietitians?
Sodexo does sponsor work visas for Dietitian roles, though the visa type offered depends on your citizenship, current status, and the site where you'll be placed. Dietitians assigned to nonprofit hospitals or universities may qualify under cap-exempt H-1B visa rules, bypassing the annual lottery. Confirm the placement type with your recruiter early, since it determines your filing timeline and options.
Which visa types does Sodexo commonly use for Dietitian roles?
Sodexo has sponsored Dietitian roles using F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN visa, J-1 visa, and H-2B visa classifications depending on the candidate's situation. F-1 OPT is the most common path for recent graduates in the U.S. TN visa is available for Canadian and Mexican nationals since Dietitian is a USMCA-listed occupation. J-1 visa is sometimes used for training or exchange placements. H-2B is less typical for this function but has been used.
What qualifications does Sodexo expect for Dietitian positions?
Most Sodexo Dietitian postings require a Registered Dietitian credential issued by the Commission on Dietetic Registration, along with state licensure where the role is located. Clinical roles often expect experience in medical nutrition therapy or foodservice management. Sodexo's client-facing model means strong communication skills and the ability to work within institutional contract environments are consistently weighted in hiring decisions.
How do I apply for Dietitian jobs at Sodexo?
Search for Dietitian openings on Sodexo's careers site and filter by location or segment, such as healthcare or higher education. If you need visa sponsorship, Migrate Mate lets you browse Sodexo Dietitian roles where the company has an active sponsorship track record for this function, so you can prioritize applications more strategically. Tailor your resume to reflect RD credentials, CDR registration, and any relevant foodservice or clinical experience.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Sodexo Dietitian role?
Timeline depends heavily on visa type. TN sponsorship for Canadian nationals can be resolved at the port of entry on your start date. F-1 OPT authorization typically needs to be in place before your first day, so USCIS recommends applying 90 days before employment. H-1B cap-subject petitions follow USCIS's April lottery cycle, meaning a full-year lead time is realistic. Cap-exempt H-1B filings at qualifying sites have no set season and can process in a matter of months.
