Align your credentials to retail operations standards
Ulta's Service Operations Manager roles emphasize scheduling, loss prevention compliance, and team performance metrics. Frame your resume around multi-unit coordination or high-traffic retail environments rather than general management, so your background maps directly to their store operations structure.
Target district-level openings not just flagship stores
Ulta posts Service Operations Manager roles across regional clusters, not just major metros. Applying to mid-market district openings often means less competition and a hiring team with more flexibility to move quickly through the sponsorship approval process.
Confirm OPT STEM extension eligibility before applying
Service Operations Manager roles at Ulta have supported F-1 OPT candidates. If your degree is in a STEM-designated field like supply chain or information systems, you may have 24 additional months of work authorization, which gives the company more runway before filing an immigrant petition.
Clarify sponsorship intent early in recruiter conversations
Ulta's talent acquisition team handles sponsorship decisions at the corporate level, not the store level. Raise your visa status in the first recruiter screen, before reaching hiring managers, so the process doesn't stall after an offer is already being drafted.
Understand the PERM timeline for EB-2 and EB-3 paths
Ulta has sponsored both EB-2 and EB-3 immigrant visas for operations roles. PERM labor certification with DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS even receives the immigrant petition, so starting that conversation at or shortly after your hire date gives you the best buffer.
Use Migrate Mate to filter Ulta openings by visa type
Ulta lists Service Operations Manager positions across multiple regions at any given time. Use Migrate Mate to filter those openings by the visa categories Ulta has historically sponsored, so you're applying to roles where your immigration pathway is already a known fit.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Ulta sponsor H-1B visas for Service Operations Managers?
Ulta's primary sponsorship activity for Service Operations Manager roles has been through immigrant visa categories like EB-2 and EB-3, along with F-1 OPT and TN visas. H-1B visa sponsorship for this role is less common at Ulta, in part because the role's duties don't always satisfy the specialty occupation standard USCIS applies to H-1B petitions. Confirming H-1B eligibility with Ulta's HR team directly is the right move before you apply.
Which visa types are commonly used for Service Operations Manager roles at Ulta?
Ulta has sponsored F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, EB-2, and EB-3 visas for this function. TN visas apply only to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying occupations. EB-2 and EB-3 are immigrant pathways requiring PERM labor certification through the DOL before USCIS adjudication. F-1 candidates on OPT with a STEM-eligible degree have more flexibility on timing, which makes them practical candidates during the immigrant petition process.
What qualifications and experience does Ulta expect for Service Operations Manager roles?
Ulta typically expects candidates to have experience managing store-level operations in a high-volume retail environment, including scheduling, compliance oversight, and team performance management. A bachelor's degree in business, operations, or a related field is common, though substantial retail management experience can substitute in some cases. Familiarity with workforce management systems and loss prevention protocols is frequently referenced in Ulta's job descriptions for this role.
How do I apply for Service Operations Manager jobs at Ulta?
You can search and apply through Ulta's careers portal directly, or use Migrate Mate to browse Ulta's Service Operations Manager openings filtered by the visa types the company has sponsored. When applying, tailor your resume to store operations outcomes rather than general management experience. Disclosing your visa status early in the process, during the initial recruiter screen rather than after an offer, avoids delays caused by internal sponsorship approval routing.
How long does Ulta's visa sponsorship process take for this role?
Timeline depends heavily on which visa category applies to your situation. TN visas can be obtained at a port of entry in a single day for qualifying Canadian nationals. F-1 OPT authorization is handled before you start. Immigrant visa paths through EB-2 or EB-3 require PERM certification with the DOL, which typically takes 12 to 18 months, followed by USCIS adjudication of the I-140 petition. Starting that process soon after your hire date is the most practical approach.
