Align your credentials to midstream operations
Targa's manufacturing roles center on natural gas processing and NGL fractionation. A degree in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering maps directly to these systems. Highlight coursework or experience with compressors, heat exchangers, or separation units when preparing your application materials.
Research which sites actively hire internationally
Targa operates facilities across Texas, Oklahoma, and North Dakota. DOL's OFLC disclosure data shows where employers file Labor Condition Applications by worksite location, helping you identify which plants have sponsored manufacturing roles before and target your applications accordingly.
Confirm OPT or CPT eligibility before applying
Targa sponsors F-1 OPT and CPT, which means you can start working while an H-1B petition is later filed on your behalf. Verify your program's STEM designation through your DSO early, since STEM OPT extensions give you up to 36 months of authorized work status.
Ask about H-1B timing during the offer stage
H-1B cap-subject petitions can only be filed once per year, with USCIS opening registration in March. If you receive an offer after April, clarify whether Targa will hold your role until the next filing cycle or bridge your status through OPT or another category.
Use Migrate Mate to find open manufacturing roles at Targa
Filtering by company and visa type saves time when you're targeting specific employers. Use Migrate Mate to browse Targa's current manufacturing openings and confirm which positions are open to sponsored candidates before you invest time in a full application.
Prepare for TN status if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Targa's TN sponsorship is relevant for engineers who qualify under USMCA. Engineers, industrial engineers, and scientists are recognized TN occupations. Unlike H-1B, TN status doesn't require advance USCIS filing, so your start date can be significantly faster once you have an offer letter.

Find Manufacturing at Targa Resources JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Targa Resources sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Targa Resources sponsors H-1B visas for manufacturing positions. Because H-1B sponsorship requires a qualifying specialty occupation, roles in process engineering, plant operations management, and mechanical systems engineering are the most common fit. Your degree field needs to align directly with the specific job duties, and Targa must file a certified Labor Condition Application with DOL before USCIS can approve the petition.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Targa Resources?
Apply through Targa's careers portal and tailor your resume to midstream energy operations, referencing specific systems like NGL fractionation, gas processing, or compression. Note your visa status and authorization needs in your application when prompted. Following up with a recruiter after submitting is practical, since manufacturing roles at energy companies often move through internal referrals before postings close.
Which visa types are commonly used for Manufacturing roles at Targa Resources?
Targa sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for manufacturing functions. F-1 OPT and CPT are common entry points for recent engineering graduates, with STEM OPT providing up to 36 months of work authorization. TN is the fastest path for Canadian and Mexican engineers meeting USMCA occupation criteria. H-1B is the standard long-term route for those remaining beyond their OPT period.
What qualifications does Targa Resources expect for Manufacturing roles?
Most manufacturing positions require a bachelor's degree or higher in chemical, mechanical, or process engineering. Hands-on familiarity with midstream systems, including gas processing units, compressors, or NGL pipelines, strengthens your candidacy. Some roles also require knowledge of process safety management and OSHA compliance standards, which are regulatory requirements across energy plant environments in the United States.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Manufacturing role at Targa Resources?
Timeline depends on your visa category. TN status for eligible citizens can be obtained at the border on your start date. F-1 OPT authorization takes 90 days to process through USCIS after your DSO submits the I-20 recommendation. H-1B sponsorship follows a fixed federal calendar, with cap-subject petitions registered in March and employment starting October 1 at the earliest. Use Migrate Mate to find open roles that align with your current authorization window.
