Align your credentials to scientific program management
Thermo Fisher evaluates Project Program Managers on their ability to lead cross-functional teams in regulated environments like GMP or FDA-compliant manufacturing. Highlight project credentials like PMP or Agile certifications alongside any life sciences or research operations experience in your resume and cover letter.
Target divisions with sustained international hiring
Thermo Fisher's life sciences instruments, clinical research services, and biosciences divisions consistently post Project Program Manager openings. Filtering your search by these business units gives you better odds than applying broadly across the company's full portfolio.
Search open roles through Migrate Mate
Use Migrate Mate to filter Project Program Manager openings at Thermo Fisher by visa type, so you're only reviewing roles where sponsorship has been confirmed rather than assumed. This saves significant time and reduces the risk of pursuing positions that exclude international candidates.
Clarify sponsorship scope during early conversations
Thermo Fisher sponsors multiple visa categories for program management roles, but not every hiring team handles all types equally. Ask your recruiter early whether the role supports your specific visa pathway, so you're not deep into a process built around a category the team can't support.
Understand TN eligibility if you hold Canadian or Mexican citizenship
Project Program Manager roles can qualify under TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals when the position maps to a NAFTA/USMCA-listed occupation like engineer or management consultant. Confirm the role's classification with your employer before the offer stage to avoid a misaligned petition.
Build your I-140 strategy into your offer negotiation
If you're targeting permanent residence through EB-2 or EB-3, ask during offer negotiation whether Thermo Fisher initiates the PERM labor certification process promptly after hiring. Early filing matters significantly when your priority date determines how long you wait for a Green Card to become available.

Find Project Program Manager at Thermo Fisher Scientific JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsor H-1B visas for Project Program Managers?
Yes, Thermo Fisher Scientific sponsors H-1B visas for Project Program Manager roles. The company has an established track record of filing H-1B petitions for program management positions across its life sciences and research divisions. H-1B sponsorship is most common for roles requiring specialized technical or scientific domain knowledge, so framing your background in those terms strengthens your candidacy.
How do I apply for Project Program Manager jobs at Thermo Fisher Scientific?
Apply directly through Thermo Fisher's careers portal, where Project Program Manager roles are listed by division and location. You can also browse and filter verified sponsorship-eligible openings at Thermo Fisher through Migrate Mate, which lets you sort specifically by visa type so you only apply to roles aligned with your immigration pathway.
Which visa types does Thermo Fisher Scientific commonly use for Project Program Manager roles?
Thermo Fisher sponsors H-1B visas most frequently for Project Program Managers, but also supports F-1 OPT and CPT for students transitioning into full-time roles, TN status for Canadian and Mexican nationals where the position qualifies, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for longer-term international hires.
What qualifications does Thermo Fisher Scientific expect for Project Program Manager roles?
Most Project Program Manager postings at Thermo Fisher expect a bachelor's degree in a science, engineering, or business-related field, along with several years of program or project management experience in a regulated industry. A PMP certification and familiarity with GMP, FDA, or clinical research environments meaningfully strengthens your application for roles within their life sciences and diagnostics divisions.
How do I plan my timeline if I need visa sponsorship for a Project Program Manager role at Thermo Fisher?
If you're relying on H-1B sponsorship, keep the annual April lottery window in mind when targeting start dates. F-1 OPT holders have up to 12 months of work authorization, with a possible 24-month STEM extension, giving you runway to secure sponsorship before status expires. Start conversations with recruiters at least three to four months before your target start date to allow time for USCIS processing.
