Verify Your State License Before Applying
Trinity Health operates across multiple states, each with its own RN licensure requirements. Confirm your NCLEX credentials and state board registration are active and transferable before submitting applications, since hiring teams screen for licensure alignment upfront.
Target Facilities in Compact License States
Trinity Health has sites in states that participate in the Nurse Licensure Compact. If you hold a compact state license, you can apply to roles across those locations without separate endorsements, which significantly broadens your eligible openings and speeds up the offer process.
Ask Recruiters About EB-3 Labor Certification Timelines
For permanent sponsorship through EB-3, Trinity Health must file a PERM application with the DOL before petitioning USCIS. Ask your recruiter early whether the facility has initiated PERM before so you understand the realistic timeline from offer to Green Card filing.
Clarify OPT Cap-Gap Coverage During Negotiations
If you're transitioning from F-1 OPT to H-1B sponsorship, confirm that Trinity Health will support cap-gap coverage through your I-20 extension. Not all hospital HR departments are fluent in this window, so raising it before signing your offer avoids gaps in your work authorization.

Does Trinity Health sponsor H-1B visas for School Nurses?
Yes, Trinity Health sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying School Nurse positions. Because H-1B eligibility for nursing roles requires demonstrating specialty occupation status, Trinity's HR team typically works with immigration counsel to confirm the role meets USCIS criteria before filing. Roles requiring a BSN and specialized clinical scope are most likely to qualify. Sponsorship availability can vary by facility, so confirming directly with the recruiting team for your target location is the right first step.
How do I apply for School Nurse jobs at Trinity Health?
You can search Trinity Health's career portal directly or use Migrate Mate to filter School Nurse openings that include visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to highlight RN licensure, any pediatric or occupational health experience, and your current work authorization status. Trinity's application process typically involves a recruiter screen followed by clinical panel interviews, so being prepared to discuss both patient care and compliance with school health protocols is important.
Which visa types does Trinity Health commonly use for School Nurse roles?
Trinity Health has sponsored H-1B, EB-2, EB-3, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, TN, and J-1 visas for nursing roles. For School Nurses, H-1B and EB-3 are the most common pathways. TN is available for Canadian and Mexican RNs under the USMCA. J-1 sponsorship is typically tied to specific exchange programs. F-1 OPT and CPT are available for candidates in qualifying nursing graduate programs. The right visa depends on your nationality, degree level, and timeline.
What qualifications does Trinity Health expect for School Nurse positions?
Trinity Health generally requires an active RN license in the relevant state, a BSN for most School Nurse roles, and prior clinical experience in pediatrics, community health, or occupational settings. Some positions require a school nurse certification or credential issued by the state board of education. Strong documentation skills are valued, as school nurses at Trinity often manage health records, medication administration logs, and coordination with external healthcare providers.
How do I understand the sponsorship process timeline for a School Nurse role at Trinity Health?
For H-1B sponsorship, USCIS requires filing during the annual cap period with an October 1 start date, so timing your offer and credential verification accordingly matters. For EB-3, the PERM labor certification process through DOL typically takes 12 to 18 months before USCIS can adjudicate the immigrant petition. Starting these conversations with Trinity's recruiting team early in the process, rather than after accepting an offer, gives you a clearer picture of what to expect at each stage.
