Get Access To All JobsTips for Finding Radiology Technologist Jobs at University of Utah Jobs
Get your ARRT credentials verified early
University of Utah requires active ARRT certification for Radiology Technologist roles. International candidates should confirm their credentials transfer under ARRT's primary pathway before applying, since hiring moves quickly once a position opens.
Target open roles in high-volume imaging departments
University of Utah's radiology department spans multiple hospital campuses and outpatient facilities. Positions in CT, MRI, and interventional radiology tend to have the most consistent openings and are the most likely to support H-1B or E-3 filings.
Confirm your license before the offer stage
Utah requires state licensure from the Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing before you can start work. Initiate that application once you have a signed offer letter, since license processing can add several weeks to your start timeline.

Find Radiology Technologist at University of Utah JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does University of Utah sponsor H-1B visas for Radiology Technologists?
Yes, University of Utah sponsors H-1B visas for Radiology Technologist roles. As a large academic medical institution, it qualifies as an H-1B cap-exempt employer through its affiliation with a nonprofit research organization, which means petitions can be filed at any time of year without waiting for the annual H-1B lottery. This is a meaningful advantage for candidates who missed the cap or need to start sooner.
How do I apply for Radiology Technologist jobs at University of Utah?
Applications go through the University of Utah's official careers portal, where Radiology Technologist openings are posted by department and location. You'll need to submit a resume, relevant certifications including active ARRT credentials, and state licensure documentation. You can also browse current University of Utah radiology openings filtered by visa sponsorship type on Migrate Mate before applying directly through the university.
Which visa types does University of Utah commonly sponsor for Radiology Technologists?
University of Utah supports several visa pathways for this role, including H-1B, E-3 for Australian citizens, TN for Canadian and Mexican nationals, and J-1 for exchange visitors in clinical training programs. For longer-term employment, the university also has experience with EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card sponsorship for radiology staff, particularly in full-time permanent positions.
What qualifications does University of Utah expect for Radiology Technologist roles?
Most Radiology Technologist positions require active ARRT certification in radiography as a baseline. Specialized modalities like CT, MRI, or interventional radiology typically require additional ARRT certification in that area. Utah state licensure is mandatory before your start date. A two-year associate degree in radiologic technology is the minimum educational requirement, though academic medical center roles often favor candidates with clinical experience in a hospital setting.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Radiology Technologist at University of Utah?
Timeline depends on visa type. Because the university qualifies as a cap-exempt H-1B employer, it can file with USCIS on a rolling basis. Standard H-1B processing runs three to six months, while premium processing with USCIS cuts that to around 15 business days. TN and E-3 visas typically move faster since they don't require a USCIS petition before consular processing. Build in additional time for Utah state licensure, which runs independently of the immigration filing.
