Frame Your Pharma Commercial Experience Precisely
Vanda looks for Sales Development Managers who understand both drug development cycles and market access. When building your resume, tie your sales methodology directly to therapeutic areas or specialty pharmaceutical products, not just quota attainment.
Target Open Roles During Vanda's Active Hiring Cycles
Vanda posts Sales Development Manager positions in volume, signaling structured commercial expansion. Use Migrate Mate to filter and track these openings by visa type so you're applying to confirmed sponsorship-eligible listings, not guessing at eligibility.
Understand the LCA Filing Requirement Before Your Offer
Before USCIS approves an H-1B petition, Vanda's HR team must file a Labor Condition Application with the DOL certifying your offered wage meets the prevailing rate for Sales Development Manager roles in your work location.
Prepare a Specialty Occupation Narrative for Your Role
USCIS scrutinizes whether Sales Development Manager positions qualify as specialty occupations. Document how your role requires a bachelor's degree or higher in a specific discipline, such as life sciences, pharmacology, or business, not generalist sales experience.

Find Sales Development Manager at Vanda Pharmaceuticals JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Vanda Pharmaceuticals sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Development Managers?
Yes, Vanda Pharmaceuticals does sponsor H-1B visas for Sales Development Manager roles. The company has an established pattern of filing H-1B petitions for commercial positions within its pharmaceutical business. Candidates should confirm sponsorship availability for the specific role and location during the interview process, as not every individual opening may be designated for sponsorship.
Which visa types are commonly used for Sales Development Manager roles at Vanda Pharmaceuticals?
Vanda Pharmaceuticals sponsors H-1B, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, and TN visas for this function. F-1 OPT is common for recent graduates entering pharmaceutical sales, while H-1B is the standard long-term sponsorship path. Canadian and Mexican nationals with qualifying science or business degrees may also be eligible for TN status without going through the H-1B lottery.
What qualifications or experience are expected for Sales Development Manager roles at Vanda Pharmaceuticals?
Vanda typically expects candidates to have a background in pharmaceutical or biotechnology sales, with direct experience in specialty or CNS therapeutic areas being an advantage given Vanda's pipeline focus. A bachelor's degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or business is generally required. Demonstrated experience managing sales teams, developing territory strategies, and working within FDA-regulated commercial environments strengthens your application significantly.
How do I apply for Sales Development Manager jobs at Vanda Pharmaceuticals?
You can browse open Sales Development Manager positions at Vanda Pharmaceuticals on Migrate Mate, which filters listings by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm eligibility before applying. From there, submit your application directly through Vanda's careers portal. Tailor your materials to highlight pharmaceutical commercial experience and any specialty therapeutic area expertise relevant to Vanda's marketed products.
How do I manage the H-1B filing timeline when joining Vanda Pharmaceuticals?
H-1B petitions for cap-subject candidates must be filed by early April for an October 1 start date, so your offer and petition preparation need to begin months earlier. If you're on OPT, Vanda's immigration counsel will typically coordinate the I-129 filing after USCIS selects your registration in the lottery. Premium processing, which USCIS offers for an additional fee, can reduce adjudication time to around 15 business days if your start date is time-sensitive.
