Target engineering and product roles first
Via Transportation's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical functions. Software engineers, data scientists, and product managers are the strongest fit, focus your application on these teams where international hiring has the most precedent.
Highlight transit or mobility domain experience
Via operates at the intersection of technology and public transit. Candidates with experience in mobility platforms, logistics software, or smart city infrastructure stand out. Framing your background around transportation technology strengthens your case considerably.
Understand which visas Via actively supports
Via sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3, TN, F-1 OPT, and Green Card pathways. If you're Australian or Canadian, the E-3 and TN routes offer a faster path to an offer without lottery risk, worth raising early in the interview process.
Raise sponsorship early, not at the offer stage
Visa sponsorship requires employer-side preparation time. Mention your visa status in your initial application or recruiter screen so Via's HR team can confirm eligibility and start internal processes before an offer is extended.
Use Migrate Mate to verify sponsorship history before applying
Not every technology company sponsors consistently across all visa types. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsorship data so you can confirm Via's track record for your specific visa category before investing time in the application process.
Prepare for a structured technical interview process
Via Transportation runs a competitive hiring process typical of growth-stage technology companies. Expect system design and coding rounds for engineering roles. Arriving well-prepared signals the kind of high-caliber talent that justifies the sponsorship investment.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Via Transportation sponsor H-1B visas?
Yes, Via Transportation sponsors H-1B visas. The company has an established track record of supporting international employees through the H-1B process, primarily for technical and engineering roles. If you're on F-1 OPT, Via can also support the OPT-to-H-1B visa transition, which is one of the most common pathways for international candidates entering the company.
What visa types does Via Transportation sponsor?
Via Transportation sponsors H-1B, H-1B1 visa, E-3 visa, TN visa, and F-1 OPT visas, and also supports Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways. Australian citizens should look closely at the E-3 visa option, and Canadian or Mexican nationals may qualify for TN visa status, both routes avoid the H-1B lottery entirely.
Which departments at Via Transportation are most likely to sponsor visas?
Via's sponsorship activity is concentrated in technical departments, software engineering, data science, and product development are the roles most commonly associated with work visa filings. Operations and business roles are less likely to generate sponsorship activity. Candidates with strong software or platform engineering backgrounds are the best fit for sponsored positions at Via.
How do I find open roles at Via Transportation that offer visa sponsorship?
Migrate Mate lists verified visa-sponsoring employers, including Via Transportation, so you can filter by sponsorship type and see open roles in one place. This is more reliable than scanning general job boards, where sponsorship eligibility is often unclear or outdated. Searching directly for Via on Migrate Mate shows current openings tied to confirmed sponsorship history.
How do I improve my chances of getting sponsored by Via Transportation?
The strongest candidates for Via's sponsored roles combine software or data engineering skills with an understanding of mobility or transit technology. Clearly stating your visa status early in the process, ideally in your initial application, helps recruiters route your candidacy appropriately. Via's technical interview process is competitive, so preparation on system design and relevant domain experience matters significantly.
