Frame your credentials around client-facing outcomes
Walker Consultants evaluates Business Development candidates on measurable wins: accounts grown, proposals won, partnerships built. Before applying, document your pipeline contributions and revenue impact in concrete terms so your resume speaks directly to what their hiring managers are screening for.
Target Walker's specialty practice areas strategically
Walker Consultants operates across parking, transportation, and structural engineering consulting. Candidates who can tie their Business Development background to one of these verticals, rather than presenting as a generalist, give the firm a clearer business case for petitioning on their behalf.
Browse open Business Development roles using Migrate Mate
Walker Consultants posts across multiple channels and openings close quickly. Use Migrate Mate to filter their current Business Development listings by visa sponsorship type so you only spend time on roles where your status, whether F-1 OPT, TN, or H-1B, is explicitly supported.
Clarify OPT cap-gap exposure before your interview
If you're on F-1 OPT and your work authorization expires before October 1, understand the cap-gap rule before your offer conversation. A timely H-1B petition filed by April gives you continued work authorization through the fiscal year start, which removes a common sticking point for consulting employers.
Understand how PERM shapes your long-term path
Walker Consultants sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards, but PERM labor certification requires the employer to document that no qualified U.S. worker was available. For Business Development roles, which attract strong domestic candidate pools, start that conversation early rather than waiting until after your first H-1B renewal.
Prepare a concise sponsorship pitch for your offer stage
Consulting firms weigh the cost and administrative lift of sponsorship against a candidate's projected client value. Come to the offer stage ready to articulate your timeline, your visa category, and why sponsoring you now is lower-friction than the firm may expect, especially if you're already work-authorized.

Find Business Development at Walker Consultants JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Walker Consultants sponsor H-1B visas for Business Developments?
Yes, Walker Consultants has a history of sponsoring H-1B visas for Business Development roles. Because H-1B specialty occupation requirements apply, your role needs to require at least a bachelor's degree in a directly related field. Business Development positions in professional services consulting typically meet that bar when tied to technical or analytical responsibilities.
How do I apply for Business Development jobs at Walker Consultants?
You can find and apply for Business Development openings at Walker Consultants directly through their careers page or through Migrate Mate, which filters roles by visa sponsorship type so you can confirm your work authorization is supported before applying. Tailor your resume to Walker's consulting verticals, including parking, transportation, and structural engineering, to improve your chances of moving past initial screening.
Which visa types does Walker Consultants commonly use for Business Development hires?
Walker Consultants has sponsored H-1B, TN, and F-1 OPT candidates for Business Development roles, and the firm also supports EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term hires. TN is available to Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying professional categories. F-1 OPT candidates are typically transitioned to H-1B sponsorship once they receive an offer and clear the lottery.
What qualifications does Walker Consultants expect for Business Development roles?
Walker Consultants generally looks for candidates with a bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as business, engineering, or a related discipline, combined with demonstrated experience building client relationships in a consulting or professional services environment. Knowledge of Walker's core practice areas, parking, transportation, or structural consulting, meaningfully strengthens your application over a generalist Business Development background.
How do I time my application to avoid gaps in work authorization?
If you're on F-1 OPT, apply to Walker Consultants roles at least four to five months before your authorization expires so there's enough runway for an H-1B petition to be filed by the April 1 USCIS deadline. TN holders have more flexibility since TN status can be renewed without a cap, but you should still confirm your current status end date before accepting an offer.
