Align Your Credentials to Specialty Occupation Standards
Engineering roles at consulting firms like Walker Consultants typically require a degree directly tied to the work, not just a related field. Confirm your transcript and transcript evaluation clearly match the job's technical discipline before you apply.
Target Walker's Project-Specific Engineering Openings
Walker Consultants staffs by project type, including structural, transportation, and parking. Filter your search by discipline rather than title alone. Roles tied to active project pipelines move faster and are more likely to include sponsorship conversations early.
Understand TN Eligibility If You're Canadian or Mexican
Walker sponsors TN visas for qualifying engineering roles, and the TN category for engineers requires a degree in engineering, not engineering technology. Confirm your credential classification before the offer stage so there's no delay at the border.
Get Your OPT Authorization Timed to the Offer
If you're on F-1 OPT, your start date must fall within your authorized employment window. Request your EAD early and confirm the engineering role qualifies under your STEM designation, since STEM OPT extensions require employer enrollment in E-Verify, which Walker maintains.
Use Migrate Mate to Surface Walker Consultants Engineering Roles
Visa-sponsored engineering openings at consulting firms rarely stay visible for long. Use Migrate Mate to filter Walker Consultants' active engineering jobs by visa type so you're applying to roles that match your current immigration status or sponsorship need.
Ask About PERM Timing Before Accepting an H-1B Offer
Consulting firms can start PERM labor certification alongside an H-1B petition if you're targeting a Green Card. Clarify with Walker's HR team whether the engineering role has a PERM track, since early filing protects your priority date while you're still in the H-1B process.

Find Engineering at Walker Consultants JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Walker Consultants sponsor H-1B visas for Engineers?
Yes, Walker Consultants has a documented history of sponsoring H-1B visas for engineering roles. As a consulting firm, Walker qualifies as a specialty occupation employer for engineering positions, which is a core H-1B requirement. Your degree must align directly with the role's technical discipline, and sponsorship is typically confirmed during the offer negotiation stage.
Which visa types does Walker Consultants use for Engineering roles?
Walker Consultants sponsors H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, and employment-based Green Cards including EB-2 and EB-3 for engineering positions. TN is available if you're Canadian or Mexican and hold a qualifying engineering degree. F-1 OPT candidates should confirm Walker is enrolled in E-Verify before starting, which is required for STEM OPT extensions.
How do I apply for Engineering jobs at Walker Consultants?
Browse Walker Consultants' open engineering positions through their careers page or use Migrate Mate to filter specifically for roles that offer visa sponsorship. When applying, tailor your resume to the project discipline, whether structural, transportation, or parking design, and be upfront about your visa status early in the process so Walker's HR team can confirm sponsorship availability before your interview.
What qualifications does Walker Consultants expect for sponsored Engineering positions?
Walker Consultants is a specialty consulting firm, so engineering roles generally require a bachelor's degree or higher in a directly related engineering discipline. Professional licensure or progress toward a PE credential is a strong differentiator. Project experience in Walker's core practice areas, including structural assessment, transportation planning, or parking design, strengthens your candidacy considerably.
How do I time my visa application when accepting an Engineering offer from Walker Consultants?
H-1B petitions must be filed by April 1 for an October 1 start, so if your offer arrives after March, your start date will be delayed by up to six months unless you're cap-exempt. TN and OPT transitions can move faster. Confirm your current status expiration and align it with Walker's projected project start dates to avoid gaps in work authorization.
