Align your credentials to specialty occupation standards
Xylem's Manufacturing roles in water and wastewater equipment production often require engineering degrees in mechanical, chemical, or industrial disciplines. Make sure your transcripts and degree evaluations reflect a field-specific match to the role's requirements before applying.
Target roles tied to environmental infrastructure projects
Xylem's Manufacturing pipeline is closely tied to municipal water contracts and environmental compliance work. Positions supporting pump assembly, treatment systems, or control instrumentation tend to involve longer project cycles, which strengthens the employer's case for sponsoring long-term status.
Search open Manufacturing positions through Migrate Mate
Filter by visa type and industry on Migrate Mate to surface Xylem's active Manufacturing openings that explicitly support sponsorship. This saves time by surfacing roles where the hiring pathway already accounts for international candidates.
Clarify your work authorization timeline during interviews
If you're on F-1 OPT, your 12-month authorization window matters to Xylem's HR timeline. STEM OPT extension eligibility for Manufacturing and engineering roles buys additional runway, but you need to confirm your classification qualifies before relying on that buffer.
Understand how DOL prevailing wage applies to your offer
For H-1B and PERM-based sponsorship, Xylem must certify your offered wage meets DOL prevailing wage levels for your specific Manufacturing job title and work location. Review the DOL's Foreign Labor Certification data portal to understand the wage tier tied to your role before negotiating.
Prepare for a multi-step filing sequence on employer-sponsored Green Cards
EB-2 and EB-3 sponsorship through Xylem involves PERM labor certification before USCIS petition filing. Manufacturing roles with specialized equipment experience can take longer to clear PERM recruitment requirements, so confirm your employer's intent early and track priority dates through USCIS.

Find Manufacturing at Xylem JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Xylem sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing roles?
Yes, Xylem sponsors H-1B visas for qualifying Manufacturing positions, particularly roles requiring a relevant engineering or technical degree. Because the H-1B requires the position to meet the specialty occupation standard under USCIS guidelines, roles like process engineer, quality engineer, and manufacturing engineer are the most common fits within this function.
How do I apply for Manufacturing jobs at Xylem?
Apply directly through Xylem's careers portal, where Manufacturing roles are listed by location and business unit. Before applying, review the job description carefully to confirm it aligns with your degree field, since sponsorship eligibility depends on that match. Migrate Mate also lists Xylem's open Manufacturing roles filtered by visa sponsorship type, which can help you identify the right positions faster.
Which visa types does Xylem commonly use for Manufacturing roles?
Xylem sponsors a range of visa types for Manufacturing professionals, including H-1B for specialty occupation roles, TN for eligible Canadian and Mexican nationals in engineering positions, F-1 OPT and CPT for students in active programs, J-1 for exchange-based roles, and EB-2 or EB-3 Green Card pathways for longer-term sponsorship. The right category depends on your nationality, degree, and the specific role.
What qualifications does Xylem look for in Manufacturing candidates seeking sponsorship?
Xylem's Manufacturing roles typically require a bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical, industrial, chemical, or electrical engineering, and hands-on experience with production systems, quality management, or process improvement. For water and environmental equipment manufacturing specifically, familiarity with pump systems, fluid handling, or treatment process controls strengthens your profile significantly and supports the specialty occupation case required for H-1B sponsorship.
How long does visa sponsorship take for a Manufacturing role at Xylem?
Timeline varies by visa type. H-1B standard processing through USCIS takes roughly three to six months, though premium processing can reduce that to 15 business days. F-1 OPT authorization is tied to your program end date. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship for EB-2 or EB-3 can take one to three years or more before a visa number becomes available, depending on your country of birth and the priority date backlog.
