Align your credentials with DOL wage levels
Xylem's LCA filings for manufacturing roles are tied to DOL prevailing wage determinations. Confirm your expected offer maps to at least a Level I or II wage for your region before the offer stage to avoid surprises during the H-1B petition.
Target Xylem facilities in water infrastructure hubs
Xylem's manufacturing operations concentrate around water treatment and industrial equipment plants. Researching which facility locations have active production lines for their core product lines gives you a sharper targeting advantage than applying broadly.
Clarify CPT and OPT authorization before your start date
If you're on F-1 status, confirm your program supports CPT or OPT for manufacturing roles before accepting an offer. Xylem does hire F-1 students, but your university's authorization, not just Xylem's willingness, determines whether you can legally begin work.
Ask directly about PERM sponsorship timelines
Xylem sponsors EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards for manufacturing roles, but PERM recruitment and DOL processing can take 18 months or more. Raise the permanent residence pathway in the offer conversation so you understand the employer's internal policy before signing.
Use Migrate Mate to filter open Manufacturing Technician roles at Xylem by visa type
Xylem posts across multiple job boards, but not every listing flags sponsorship eligibility. Migrate Mate filters Xylem's Manufacturing Technician openings specifically by visa type, so you spend time only on roles where your status is supported.
Document hands-on equipment and process experience precisely
Xylem's manufacturing technician postings emphasize specific equipment competencies, including hydraulic systems and fluid handling. Your resume should name the exact machinery, testing protocols, and production environments you've worked in, not just list general technician duties.

Find Manufacturing Technician at Xylem JobsFrequently Asked Questions
Does Xylem sponsor H-1B visas for Manufacturing Technicians?
Yes, Xylem sponsors H-1B visas for Manufacturing Technician roles. The role must qualify as a specialty occupation under USCIS standards, which typically means demonstrating that a specific technical degree, such as mechanical or industrial engineering, is a standard requirement for the position rather than a preference.
How do I apply for Manufacturing Technician jobs at Xylem?
Applications go through Xylem's careers portal. The most effective approach is to use Migrate Mate to identify Xylem's open Manufacturing Technician roles filtered by the visa type you hold or need, which saves you from applying to postings where sponsorship isn't available. Tailor your application to highlight relevant equipment experience and any water or environmental industry background.
Which visa types does Xylem commonly use for Manufacturing Technician roles?
Xylem has sponsored H-1B, TN, F-1 OPT, F-1 CPT, J-1, and employment-based Green Card pathways including EB-2 and EB-3 for manufacturing positions. TN is an option for Canadian and Mexican nationals in qualifying engineering or technical roles. F-1 CPT and OPT are common entry points for recent graduates before transitioning to H-1B sponsorship.
What qualifications does Xylem expect for Manufacturing Technician positions?
Xylem's Manufacturing Technician roles typically require a technical degree or associate's credential in a field like mechanical, electromechanical, or industrial technology, combined with hands-on experience in production or assembly environments. Familiarity with fluid systems, hydraulic equipment, or water treatment processes is a practical advantage given Xylem's core product lines.
How long does the visa sponsorship process take for a Manufacturing Technician offer at Xylem?
For H-1B, USCIS standard processing runs roughly three to six months after the April lottery selection, with premium processing available to reduce that to 15 business days. TN sponsorship for Canadians can be processed at the border same-day. PERM-based Green Card sponsorship, where applicable, involves DOL processing that can extend well beyond a year before the I-140 petition stage.
