Target back-of-house and culinary leadership roles
Zuma's sponsorship activity centers on specialized culinary talent. Focus your search on senior kitchen positions where niche expertise in Japanese cuisine creates a genuine case for sponsorship that general hospitality employers rarely make.
Understand that Zuma sponsors permanent residence, not temporary work visas
Zuma's track record is in Green Card sponsorship through EB-2 and EB-3 pathways, not H-1B. If you're on F-1 OPT or CPT, use that window strategically to build a relationship before pursuing a permanent residence pathway.
Use your OPT period to demonstrate value before raising sponsorship
Zuma accepts F-1 OPT and CPT candidates. Joining during your OPT period gives you time to prove your contribution before the conversation about long-term sponsorship becomes relevant for either side.
Highlight credentials that support an EB-2 or EB-3 case
Since Zuma sponsors permanent residence, tailor your application to emphasize formal culinary training, specialized skills, and progressive experience. These directly strengthen the PERM labor certification process employers must complete.
Research open roles using a platform that shows verified sponsorship history
Not every job posting discloses sponsorship intent. Migrate Mate surfaces verified sponsors so you can filter by real sponsorship history, helping you focus only on Zuma openings where sponsorship is a realistic outcome.
Apply directly and reference your visa status early in the process
At a boutique operation like Zuma, hiring decisions involve senior management. Being transparent about your immigration status from the first contact avoids mismatched expectations and signals the professionalism high-end hospitality employers expect.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Zuma sponsor H-1B visas?
Zuma does not have a track record of sponsoring H-1B visas. Its sponsorship activity is focused on permanent residence through the EB-2 and EB-3 Green Card categories. If you require H-1B sponsorship, Zuma is unlikely to be the right fit. Candidates on F-1 OPT or CPT may still pursue roles while building toward a long-term Green Card pathway.
What visa types does Zuma sponsor?
Zuma sponsors permanent residence through EB-2 and EB-3 classifications, and accepts candidates working under F-1 OPT and CPT authorization. The EB-3 pathway is common in food and beverage for skilled and professional roles, while EB-2 applies where advanced degrees or exceptional ability can be demonstrated. Zuma does not appear to sponsor nonimmigrant work visas such as H-1B or E-3 visa.
Which roles at Zuma are most likely to receive visa sponsorship?
Sponsorship at Zuma is most associated with specialized culinary and kitchen leadership positions, where the employer can demonstrate that the role requires skills not readily available in the U.S. labor market, which is a prerequisite for the PERM labor certification process underlying EB-2 and EB-3 Green Cards. Front-of-house and general service roles are less commonly associated with sponsorship at restaurants of this type.
How do I find open visa-sponsored jobs at Zuma?
Most job postings do not explicitly state whether sponsorship is available, which makes it difficult to tell from listings alone. Migrate Mate aggregates roles from verified sponsors and lets you filter specifically by sponsorship type and company, so you can identify Zuma openings where Green Card or OPT-eligible sponsorship is a documented possibility rather than guesswork.
How do I approach the application process at Zuma as an international candidate?
Disclose your visa status early, ideally in your cover letter or initial outreach. Zuma operates as a premium hospitality brand where hiring is deliberate, so demonstrating specialized culinary credentials alongside immigration clarity makes the strongest impression. If you're on OPT, frame your timeline honestly. For Green Card sponsorship, expect a multi-step process involving labor certification that typically takes one to two years from offer to petition filing.
